Free Samples
Free Samples
How many of you love getting free samples? I found a awesome place from Makeup talk and they were talking about how VMV Hypoallergenics was giving out 5 free samples thru March. I went to the site and ordered my 5 free samples as well as a bottle of Know it all oil. Then they included a extra sample.
The samples I received was:
Re everything cream
Superskin 3 primer
Essence Milk shampoo
Mr creamy milk moisturise
Illuminants + Cleansing cream
Superskin 2 primer
I can't wait to try them out! I know this is a company I plan on ordering a few items from every now and then. I so want to try their laundry soap but they were out when I was on their page last..
This is a photo from their web page of the Illuminants cleansing cream. I have made up my mind if I like this product and it works it will be the first item I will buy.
The samples come in such cute test tubes with a spatula to get it out with...awesome!!
Getting these in the mail sure made for a happy mail day! I also received a pen pal letter as well as a postcrossing postcard!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me today!! Have a awesome day!!

Trying new things in the kitchen
Rum Cake
Tonight I want to o some baking and cleaning in the kitchen. So found a recipe from all recipes for a easy rum cake.
Ingredients
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup dark rum
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
Glaze
1/2 cup butter
1/8 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup rum
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube or Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over the bottom of the pan.
2.Mix together the cake mix, 1/2 cup dark rum, eggs, 1/2 cup water, oil, and vanilla pudding mix. Pour batter over the nuts in the pan.
3.Bake for 1 hour. Cool, and invert cake on a serving plate. Prick the top of the cake.
4.To Make The Glaze: Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in 1/8 cup water and the 1/2 cup sugar. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove glaze from heat, and stir in 1/4 cup rum. Drizzle and smooth evenly over the top and sides.
Doesn't this sound awesome? I still have some rum left over from the rum balls Aaron and I made way back when. I never knew cooking with alcholic products could be so much fun!!
My cousin Blenda had Ms. Kylie yesterday morning she weighed 8 pounds 6 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is a cutie!! Welcome to our crazy family!!
Tonight I also plan on straightening the house before Mr. C. gets home. I need to put finishing touches on the craft room as well. The week he is home I make sure to pick up and clean behind myself..the week he is gone it's like oh I will get to it later and let the house get messy. I so need to get out of that mindset!!
Guess I need to get off here and get some work done! Have a totally awesome day! Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me today!

Shopping at Burlington Coat Factory
Cleaned on my house this morning and thought I would drive to Oklahoma City to Burlington Coat Factory. I spent hours in this store. Went thru the baby department and found some cute items for my cousin's new baby. I wanted to take something to hospital tomorrow when I go see Ms. Kylie. I also found a couple of burgundy and gray towels and wash cloths. Where do my towels disappear to I wonder? They may be hiding under the kids bed's but I am NOT venturing in that dangerous territory! I found a cool pair of sketcher shoes and a cool pink and black zebra short sleeve shirt and matching socks as well. It was a very productive shopping trip.
On the way home I stopped at Chickasha Wal~Mart and bought groceries to last till Thursday. Spent $100.00 but bought me diet food as well as the normal items. I do not want to do any more grocery shopping at all. Of course I left my coupons at home on the dining room table.
My craft room is starting to look better. I am not nearly done but am making headway on it. I threw a huge black garbage bag full of miscellaneous items away. Am trying to fill the second bag up before Mr. C. gets home late Thursday night.
Mr. C. keeps telling me we need to declutter which means I must get to it and get it done. There is a page on facebook for our community that is called buy sell or trade and I know I could be selling some items and making some money..Although that just seems like a lot of hard work where as I can just take it all to goodwill and be done with it. BUT if I sold some stuff then I could add the money to my sealed pot challenge. Extra money is always nice..right?
Well I had better get off here and get busy! Everyone have a great day!!

Making baby shower gifts
So here I am getting ready for a baby shower for my cousin Blenda. I made her washcloth lollipop's, washcloth with socks cupcakes and a sleeping baby out of diapers. I also bought her receiving blanket, hooded bath towel, socks, wipes, diapers, burp cloths and miniature bath items. I also found a cute diva outfit from Calvin Klein that was awesome!
These are similar to what I made. Once again will say that I got these off the Internet. Will be glad if I ever get my computer fixed and back on line.
Am looking forward to the baby shower tomorrow. Should have lots of family and friends show up. It's been along time since we've had a baby girl in our family!

Great Mail Day!
today my Ipsy and Birchbox both came! Woo Hoo!! was so excited to get them. I am far more impressed with Ipsy than Birchbox. Am going to give Birchbox a few more months before I make a final decision about giving them the ole boot..
Here's a few items I recieved in my Birchbox
Of course just in sample sizes.. Here's my problem I tend to have..I tend to put my samples on my dresser and never try them out. My thinking is I will use them on a special occasion. Yes I know I so need to get over that old way of processing thoughts. So this month I plan on using at least 6 new samples I have received. I am sure some of you are thinking well that is nothing to do, but for me it will be a baby step toward the big step. I am sure there are several products I want to try and buy. I so am looking at the dry shampoo to try. I had received the olive oil shampoo and conditioner for a Christmas gift and it tends to leave my hair oily. So I know its not the right stuff to be using but I sure am not going to waste it. That's my thrifty side of me coming out!
On to other news..I am still saving money in my sealed pot challenge. I have found that its easier for me to save all my loose change versus trying to put dollar bills in the pot. Okay here's the truth I haven't totally sealed the pot and I keep finding reasons to take out the dollar bills. My bad!! This past weekend I took my middle son to a gun show and we ended up buying him a 22 pistol, using some of the money in the pot. Then this coming weekend I have to take my youngest son to a gun show in Oklahoma City and buy him a gun as well. If not then it's not fair according to Trevor my 14 year old baby boy. He knows how to work his momma!!
I have lots more to share with you, but I will do that later! Karen

It's Finally Friday! Woo Hoo!!
Today is finally Friday. Today is the only day I worked so I am not sure why I am so excited for it to be Friday. My weekend is looking like this so far...Today I work till 5pm, after work I want to declutter the bathroom. Tomorrow I want to clean the house and rearrange some furniture. That will be a tough job but am ready to tackle it. Then Sunday I am going to work on some friendship books and label bags and get them moving along.
Found this image on the Internet...
Monday I will catch up on some of my DVD'd shows. Doesn't this sound like a wonderful weekend. It sounds like it has potential to be a great one. If only I can follow thru with all my goals.!
Everyone have a great one...see ya soon!
