New journal for Swap-bot

Here’s a few pages out of my journal. Just remember I am not a artist but still like to add fun pages to my journal.

This journal will have a few entries about my love for books. I am avid book reader.  Don’t know why I haven’t incorporated more pages about books in my past journals.

Am a big animal print person.  I am trying to branch out my likes but at the end of the day I go back to my favorites.  I should have ordered more of these cute stickers for my collection.  While I am working on this journal, I also am working on my personal journal. Some pages will be similar in both journals.

I also like to use pictures showcasing my daily life.

I can’t be the only one who has random stickers laying around unused. I have so many stickers. There is a back story on why I love stickers and have so many of them.  Maybe one day I will write about that in my blog. I do know I got my love of stickers from my Grandma Pearl.

This is a favorite spread for my journals. Rainbow have always been another favorite of mine. I know these days it represents something other than what I was taught. But we can all share our love of rainbows.

I’m currently working on a composition notebook journal for a trade over at Swap-Bot.  It’s a two month project.  I’m really excited about trying new to me ideals. Have watched quite a bit of YouTube videos on techniques and can’t wait to try them out in this new journal.  I really want to decorate the cover really nice with fabric or colored duct tape.

Unfortunately I can’t draw to save my life, but I will use a million stickers and miles of washi tape.  The pages must be decorated with something.  Lately I have been using packaging from items I have bought.  That definitely adds a layer to my pages.  I also ordered some junk journal supplies off Etsy. Ordered a pink bundle and a yellow bundle. That I’ll help make my pages pop. I know I plan on ordering a green bundle and a purple bundle as well.

This journal will include pictures, art journaling (simple as I lack drawing skills), list of all kinds, quotes and so much more.  I do write quite a bit. I enjoy the random junk journal swaps as you never know what you will receive from your partner. I have received some over the top where they spent a lot of time on it. Then others was rushed and not great. It’s definitely a gamble on what you will receive. That’s part of the fun as well.

April Journal 2024,art journal pages

I have been enjoying the monthly journal swaps at Swap Bot.  I found inspiration of my art pages on Pinterest.  Trying to come up with different ideas can cause my brain to shut down,  When I see other art journal pages I’m like that is a great ideal.

I tried to do a daily entry for every day in April.   The closer I got to the end of April I went back and added photo’s.  I personally feel like the pictures make the journal pop with interest.

My co~worker Shelby about fell down when she return to her desk Saran wrapped along with the aluminum foil.  Took her half the day to get her desk back to normal.  I’m thinking I wouldn’t have taken the prank very well.  I’m not a huge jokester.

Sure enjoyed my niece Kirsten’s wedding.  My granddaughter Kyndall and I had so much fun.  In fact Kyndall said to me later that night she wanted to go back to that party.

My niece Kara and Kyndall.

Staying positive has been hard for me lately.  Almost seems like being negative is easier.  Not sure when I stopped looking on the bright side of things.  I know it has been rough at work and in my personal life.  At work I feel like our department as a whole was being negative.  We are trying to do better, seems to be helping.  I for sure don’t want to be known as sourpuss Karen.
I do believe I will do a journal swap over at Swap Bot for June 2024.  I typically use a composition notebook for my journals.  Glue a couple of pages together to make the pages more stable.  That way if I use paint or alcohol Markers it doesn’t bleed on back of the page.

Sickness in the house

Mr C  has phenomia and has been home for 10 days.  I think he is getting worse instead of better.  He goes back to Doctor tomorrow and hopefully get more meds to take.  I have had a head cold all week.  It hasn't been alot of fun at our house.

I am going to help out my cousin Sherrie with her daughter's wedding and showers.  I think we will have lots of fun pulling everything together.  We have tulle and will make lots of big bows and that always goes along way with decorations.  It also helps that she is having the wedding at a cute venue.

.  So it looks like my crafts will be designing a wedding and a shower the next several months. I ordered several cool things from a cool website. http://www.wrapwithus.com

Received an art journal in the mail to work on and I will tell you I have enjoyed it this round.  I hope Melissa will be happy with what I have done.  I need to finish up about 5 pages and I will send it home to her.  I did it alot different than the last art journal I worked in for her.  She is going to be really surprised.

I have joined a swap where I am making a slow cooker recipe book using 50 recipes.  I am thinking that I may want to make 2 of them so I can keep one for myself.  Yes I know I will get one from my partner but what if I forget where I found these recipes I used? I plan on cutting out photos of food and decorating the pages some also.  Give it a scrapbook feeling.

I have 4 letters to send out toward my 52 letters for this year goal.  I haven't done as well as I thought I would.  But as I was saying the last 3 weeks or so we haven't been feeling very well.  I had the virus the week before Valentines Day.  Then I worked alot Valentines week.  Which meant I just didn't feel up to the challenge to write any letters.

The Budget is shot right out of the window.  I had to get a root canal and crown and let me tell you that was wxpensive.  I will say that I am glad that I had been frugal or I would be hurting financially right now.  Plus Mr C lost 3 days at his job which cost us close to $1500.00.  So we will be watching our money real close the next several paydays.  I need to get back on track and enter my expenses on my G~slate tablet.  Seems to work better for me than writing down in a book.  As I do carry my tablet everywhere with me.

My computer is still down and I so want to post some new photos I have taken lately.  Will do that as soon as I get a chance to call Hughes Net and get them out to the house.  I think it is in our lines not the computer itself.  I already had the computer at Dr and he said it was okay had many virus on it.

Have a great and wonderful week!!!

Busy week

I have been running around like crazy trying to make sure we do fun adventures before Trevor's surgery on June 21st. It seems like we have been in car more than at home.

Last night was a rare night where it was just Aaron and me at home. Trevor stayed the night with Coby (my nephew). So I put together about 10 handmade envelopes for a swap and filled a quart baggie with 10 pieces of 12+ inches of ribbon for a tag in the group all my favorite things.

Of course I had to make about 3 trips out to the shop to get supplies. That is the bad thing about cleaning out the craft room. Now I must return items to shop or my sunroom will go back to looking like a hoarders room. I do not want to ever have a room that looked like that.

Well I need to close here so I can go get busy!

Swap bot Sunday

This is for filled cosmetic bag series swap #1 pt. 4
We are to send a blush to our partner and a extra item. I am sending a light pink blush, a clear lipgloss, a bronzing brush and toenail clippers.

Am sending these items out for a purple swap I am hosting. I hope my partner likes what I have choosen for her.

I also have to wrap up a few other swaps and get them ready to ship out Tuesday. I also want to write a few pen~pal letters the next couple of days. I really enjoy swap bot.

Mr.C. and I went grocery shopping for our Memorial Cookout we are having tomorrow for a few close friends. We bought like we were cooking for a army. Mr.C. has prepped the baked potatoes and got everything else ready to cook. In morning I am going to make my special banana pudding and macaroni salad.

By the way I am sitting 20 pounds lighter! I couldn't be happier that is for sure!! The bad part is that watching what I eat is a 24 hour thought process. Mr. C. has lost 60 pounds in the same amount of time. So not fair!!! He is looking awesome.
