Bourbon Balls

               Kentucky Bourbon Balls

Directions

  1. Place the nuts in a sealable jar. Pour the bourbon over the nuts. Seal and allow to soak overnight.
  2. Mix the butter and sugar; fold in the soaked nuts. Form into 3/4" balls and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Line a tray with waxed paper. Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler over just-barely simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching. Roll the balls in the melted chocolate to coat; arrange on the prepared tray. Store in refrigerator until serving.

I will tell you these are so good and very easy to make!  In fact what are you waiting for?  Go gather up the supplies and get these awesome Bourbon balls made!

Four things

                                 Four Things
Four Things I haven't done this in awhile. I wanted to get back in the habit because I feel like it keeps me accountable. So here goes my weekly list! 1. Write 5 letters this week. One of them to my brother Lonnie!!

 2. I want to post 3 items on buy sell trade to get them out of house. I have a stand up mirror, a entertainment center and a box of books.

 3. Get Aaron to detail my car!! I must clean out the back of the car myself. I have stuff that needs to go to goodwill!!

 4. Get my finances in order. Which means I need to start writing down every penny I spend. I am so lax when it comes to my own personal money. Where I know pretty much what our household account has in it at all times...Uugh

Love my fidget pen that is magnetic.

So here it is folks my list for the week! I really need to get busy and get it accomplished! Here's to a great week!!

Overwhelmed with journal swaps!

Over at swap bot I am currently doing 4 journal swaps. A little to late to say oops thats about 2 too many at one time! Yes it's going to be a challenge, but I know I can get them done. I love doing journals but after these are done no more than 2 at a time for me. I can't seem to get my creative juices flowing. Can anyone help me out by directing me to some cool creative places on the internet? I would love to find some inspiration and get back to be as creative as I can. As most of you know I am not a artist at all can hardly draw a stick figure...lol Well guess I am going to grab a journal and work in it for awhile. Especially since the house is still quiet. Have a awesome day my friends!

Blake getting four wisdom teeth

I took Blake to the oral surgeon Thursday June 5th. They removed all four of his wisdom teeth. He did so very good with it all. I can't believe how strong willed Blake can be. Jessica his girlfriend went with us and let me tell you she is a trooper. She crawled in the backseat and fed him a milkshake and took care of him. I am so liking her a lot! When we got home we went to fill his four prescriptions but that took forever so I went ahead and took them to his house. Jessica went back and picked them up before they closed. Jessica took a day off to be with Blake today. Isn't that so very nice and thoughtful?

Trevor back to Ou Children's hospital

Trevor has foot appointment with Dr. Lewis today.  We should find out if we are going to do surgery and if so when.  This has been going on forever it seems.  I know its a elective surgery but when Trevor is in pain from the extra bone it is time to do something about it.

So on the way up there I ask Trevor if he wants to go to the zoo after the appointment.  He was like no!  Darn it my 15 1/2 year old son is too old to hang out with his momma at the zoo!

At the appointment when we see Dr. Lewis and tells us to put Trevor back in the boot for 9 weeks and to come back August 1st.  Then we will do a CT scan and proceed from there.  Do you really think Trevor is going to wear a boot all the way thru summer?  I already know this answer it's not going to happen.  Dr. Lewis even said that Trevor could wear his western boots instead of the boot.  So maybe I should go buy him a pair of boots but Trevor isn't going to wear heavy boots this summer.  Trust me I know this boy pretty well....
