Saturday I went to a family gathering for Thanksgiving. We had a great time and it was nice to visit with everyone who showed up. While I was sitting there I felt the need to go spend a few nights with Mr. C at Elk City, Okla. I came home about 2pm and threw clothes in a suitcase and off I went. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive for me and I enjoy being alone. I use that time to reflect on my life or have a loud concert of one in my car. Am glad my windows are tinted dark or other travelers would see me singing at the top of my lungs on occasion. I get to Elk City about 6 pm. Usually I take something to work on for swaps and of course I had my journal I am working on for the month of November. I am caught up on the daily entries but have been adding lots of recipes and such to make it more "me".
I finally came home Monday afternoon.. Although I made a side trip to Oklahoma City before coming home. I went to Kohls and Target and did some Christmas shopping.
The several days away was awesome and I do feel much more rested at this point!
Am glad to be back home.
It's nice to have some quiet time to think and reflect. I wished I had a car still. Not possible to have a car and be one with your thoughts in NYC. Enjoy your Thanksgiving week.

It sounds like you had the perfect little trip away from things. I think it is always great when you can get some time away to reflect.

ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate thanksgiving here in Ireland but it was so funny -my son follows the nfl and he bought some cold sliced turkey in the supermarket while he and his friends watched some match-boy did I feel guilty I might have cooked some chicken if i had known he was that dedicated!!
ReplyDeleteI love those kind of trips when you can veg out and sing. No trips for me lately. Working on art during your trip is so great. I love Hope Karney's site, she does the same thing and shows her journal. Love her work.
