Kyndall’s 7th Birthday

May 5th, 2026 — Kyndall Turns Seven 💕

Today is Kyndall’s birthday, and my heart is feeling a little heavy knowing I can’t be there in person to celebrate with her. That’s just part of living far away, I suppose—but it doesn’t make it any easier when you love someone as much as I love that sweet girl.

Kyndall is the big 7 today, and she has been so excited counting down to it. A couple of days ago, I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, and in true Kyndall fashion, she said, “Nana, I don’t care. You always get me good things.” That right there just melted me. There is something so special about a child who feels loved and content like that.

Of course, I still wanted to make sure I got her something she truly wanted, so I checked in with her mama. Melissa told me Kyndall had her heart set on a pottery wheel for kids, and I thought—oh yes, that is perfect. I got online right away and ordered one for her. I can already picture her creating little masterpieces and being so proud of herself.

We also sent her $100 from Grandpa Kendall so she could go pick out something fun for herself—because what seven-year-old doesn’t love a little birthday shopping spree? And honestly, I’m not done yet. In a few days, I’ll probably send her some film for her Insta camera and maybe a little lip gloss or two… just because. That’s one of the perks of being Nana—you get to surprise them for no reason at all.

And of course, I can’t forget baby Liam. I’m already thinking about putting together a little care package for both of them. It just feels right.

Even though I’m not there, it brings me so much comfort knowing how well Kyndall is loved and cared for. Melissa and Trevor do such a wonderful job keeping her busy and involved. Between swimming, gymnastics, and all the activities at the Roughrider Center, she is thriving. Now she’s even talking about learning how to play chess—imagine that! She’s growing into such a bright, curious, and joyful little person.

I have truly loved watching her become who she is. Her laughter, her sweetness, her spirit—it fills my heart in a way that’s hard to even put into words.

So today, from afar, I’m celebrating my beautiful granddaughter. Happy 7th birthday, Kyndall,. Nana loves you more than you could ever know.

Max’s Birthday Party

A Slow Sunday, Sweet Moments & a Windy Birthday Party

Sunday turned out to be one of those slow, easygoing days that you don’t always plan for—but end up appreciating anyway.

I stayed home with Mr. C., and we decided to make a little mid-morning run into Marlow. We stopped by Sonic for something to eat, then swung into Dollar General to grab a gift bag for Max’s birthday. While I was there, I also picked up a few energy drinks for the workweek ahead—just trying to make our errands count while we were already out and about.

Once we made it back home, the rest of the morning and early afternoon was all about relaxing. We finished up the latest season of Virgin River, which I’ll admit—I almost gave up on. I had told Luther last weekend that I was getting a little bored with the same storyline about Doc possibly losing his license. It felt like it just kept circling back. But I’m really glad I stuck with it, because the season ended up being pretty good. Now, I’m still not a big fan of cliffhangers, but I get it—they’ve got to keep us coming back somehow.

Later in the afternoon, we headed over to Brody and Savannah’s to watch the kids for a bit while Savannah ran to the ballpark to pick up Lane’s T-ball outfit. When she got back, she shared something that honestly sounded like a mess. Apparently, there’s some kind of situation involving baseball season passes—money that was supposed to be turned in never made it where it needed to go, and now a police report has been filed.

Savannah was wondering if Marlow Baseball might still honor the passes, even though they never received the funds. And while I understand why everyone would hope for that, I just don’t see how that would be fair or realistic. If the money never made it to them, it seems like the responsibility would fall back on the Rush Springs side of things. It’s an unfortunate situation all around, and I do hope they’re able to recover the money.

By mid-afternoon, it was time for me to head out again—this time to get ready for Max’s birthday party. I made a quick stop at Ross to pick up a few extra things for him. I had already gotten him a big toy truck filled with smaller vehicles, a little Bluey swimming pool, some snacks, and candy. But I couldn’t resist adding a few more things—three summer outfits and a couple of Superman figurines I thought he’d enjoy.

I also picked up pizzas on the way—two cheese and one pepperoni—per Michelle’s request.

The party was at Douglas Park, and I got there around 4:00. Some folks were already there, and the kids were having a good time on the playground. I’ll be honest—situations like that can still feel a little awkward with everything that’s happened between Aaron and Michelle. But at the end of the day, I remind myself that I’m there for Max and Clifford. They’re my grandsons, and I’m going to show up for them every chance I get.

The party itself went really well. Michelle chose a Bluey theme, which was absolutely perfect, though the Oklahoma wind definitely tried to steal the show. But that’s March for you—if it’s not windy, something’s wrong!

I stayed for about an hour and fifteen minutes and got to watch Max open his presents, which is always my favorite part. I also heard that Clifford is going on a field trip to the science museum in Oklahoma City, so I gave him a little $7 for spending money. It wasn’t much, but I wanted him to have something.

Before I left, I made sure to get hugs from Max and Clifford—and even Angel gave me one. Those moments mean more than anything. I also took a second to talk to Wesley and told him that if he ever has a wrestling tournament, to let his mama know to call me. I’d love to come watch him. Whether that happens or not, at least he knows I’m cheering him on.

On my way home, I stopped by Wendy’s to grab Luther something to eat, and I picked up a little chicken nugget kid’s meal for myself.

All in all, it was a simple day—but a full one in its own way. The kind of day that reminds me that even in the middle of ordinary moments, there’s still plenty to be grateful for.

Brooks 5th Birthday Party

Brooks birthday party was held at Curiosity Avenue in Lawton Ok. This is such a fun place for the children to play. Everyone had a great time at this venue.

Jessica went with Army theme for Brooks. I made sure to pick up gifts that he requested. He wanted army men, legos and a policeman costume. Yes sir Nana and grandpa will get it for you.

Sweet Baby Sophie Turns Three Months💕

Today our precious granddaughter Sophie turns 3 months old! She is such a sweet and happy baby. Sophie loves her tummy time and gets a little upset when she accidentally rolls onto her back. She’s starting to coo and talk to everyone, and her smile absolutely melts our hearts. 💖

Her big brothers adore her — they’re always talking to her, giving her hugs, and making sure she’s included in everything. Sophie loves to be held up so she can look around and take in the world. She’s even sleeping through the night most of the time (which her parents are very thankful for!).

As grandparents, we are beyond grateful for this little blessing. Watching her grow and change each week is pure joy. We’re soaking up every single moment with our sweet Baby Sophie! 🍼✨

Newest Grandson Liam

New Parents Trevor and Mellissa. Welcome to our world sweet grandson. LIAM WAYNE 💙💙💙
6 lbs 7 oz
Born at 1:55 A.M.
On December 19, 2024 at 1:55 AM, our family was blessed with the arrival of Liam Wayne. He weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. Liam came into the world three weeks early, but healthy and perfect in every way.

His proud parents, Trevor and Mellissa, are soaking in all the newborn snuggles, wow big sister Kyndall is absolutely over the moon to finally meet her baby brother. It warms my heart, knowing she now has her forever best friend to grow up with.

As for me, I am beyond thrilled to welcome sweet lamb into the family. Vienna, Nana from another state isn’t always easy~it means I won’t get to meet him until later in February. That’s the hard part of distance. But even though I can’t hold Jim just yet, my heart is already overflowing with love. I simply can’t wait for those first baby snuggles and kisses when the time comes.
Little Liam you are already so loved, and we are all excited to watch you grow and shine.

So happy to finally meet my newest grandson BROOKS CALVIN 💙💙💙

This Nana is over the moon with Brooks arrival.  I know that I am going to enjoy watching him grow up thru the years. I am so thrilled to have Brooks join our family.  Am sure he is going to give his parents a run for their money! Especially if he inherited his daddy’s hardheaded attitude.  Blake was always stubborn and hardheaded.
