Pen pal letters, mail art,

Am sending out 3 letters for the week.  I wanted to make each envelope cute. I know I love happy mail and really get excited when it’s decorated with stickers and such.  Since I’m not an artist stickers come to my rescue.

Am sure by pen pals enjoy the pop of color on their envelopes.  To tell you the truth I am always just to receive a piece of happy mail.  Doesn’t matter if it’s in a plain envelope or decorated.  I just feel blessed that they took time out of their busy lives to write me.
With the rising cost of stamps I have seen the decline of pen pals.  I have cut way back on pen pals myself.  I currently have 6 active pals.  Which I believe is enough for me currently. Staying on top of my outgoing mail pile is important.   I never want to be known as a pen pal collector.

Angel’s 10th birthday

Angel and Kyndall.
Having Angel’s birthday at the splash pad. The weather is beautiful. Although there wasn’t any shade so the sun was hot. I enjoyed watching the kids play in the water.

The cake was so pretty.  Had good flavor and it was moist.  It was chocolate, my favorite.

The kids were excited to see what gifts she had been given.  Angel was happy with her gifts. We got her a big slime kit and a journal set.  Kyndall gave her a small slime kit, candy and some adorable erasers that looked like macaroons.

Overall the party was fun.  Unfortunately no seating or picnic tables.  If I had known I would have bought a folding table and a few chairs.  But we made it work.

Outdoor movie at Cotten Blossom Winery

What a blessing to be watching Batman Lego with family.  Trevor, Mellissa, Kyndall, Aaron, Jessica, Logan, Brooks, Hattie, Grandma Berdine, Amelia and her daughter.  We all had fun.  Making memories is so important to me these days. Especially as I am getting older.

Logan and Nana hanging out. I’m really surprised that Logan didn’t stay home in his man cave.  Brooks told me that his brother don’t let him in his room very often.  I totally understand with Brooks being 3 and Logan being 13.  Brooks would destroy Logan’s room in one minute.

How much fun to be outside watching a movie as a family.  Unfortunately Blake was working.  I hope we can do this together sometime. I sure am enjoying spending more time with Grandma Berdine.

Grandchildren play date

Meet up with Max, Clifford,Angel and Michelle at Duncan Okla for a play date. It has been too long since I got to see them.  There is a lot going on that makes it hard to see them.  Will take every chance I get to see them.

Max has grown by leaps and bounds.  He is racing after his siblings trying to keep up with them.  Max has the cutest smile ever.

Clifford was so happy to see his Nana.   Grandkids make every day brighter.  I hope Clifford will remember how much I love him and Maxasthey get older.

Angel is being a good older sister to Max and Clifford.  She will soon be 10 years old going on 21. She seems smarter ever time we are together.

These boys seem so happy and playful.  What I do know is The age of innocence and childlike wonder is way too short. As we know in the grande scheme of life, little kid moments are so short. Enjoy each and every one.
I want my grandchildren to know I’m here to help them get into mischief they haven’t thought of yet! Hope to show them adventures and a sense of fun,

Sunday Funday

It’s been awhile since Cherrie and I have had a Sunday Funday.  I enjoy our girl outings.  Just seems as we get older the less time we are going and doing stuff.  For me I really enjoy my time at home.  Although I am making myself be more active this summer, on a budget.

Our first stop was to spend $50.00 gift card that Mr. C.  Got as his Father’s Day gift from Alisha & Jonathan.  Just keep in mind I am not familiar with the different types of fishing tackle.  I wrote down what he wanted before leaving the house.  Once at Bass Pro it was like a scavenger hunt.  I have no clue what Hula poppers, crank bait, braided line would be located.  Thankfully Cherrie knew what Hula poppers looked like and she found them fairly fast. We were able to find many crank bait tackle on our own. Unfortunately we had to get help on finding the last several items on our list.

Have you had a chance to visit a Bass Pro Shop.  So many things to buy and see.  My absolute favorite one is in Shreveport La.  Although I haven’t been back in several years.  I was always able to find fishing items on sale.

These are a few items I bought for myself.  Mr.C’s pile had more items than mine.  I try to only buy pretty tackle.  Sometimes that’s not possible.  Currently am locating a few more metallic blue items.  Feel like I have a good amount of pink and purple fishing tackle.

4th of July Celebration

Marlow 4 th of July parade was a memorable event.  Bringing together my dear sweet cousin Daisy, my cousin Mike, his wife and his children their spouses and grandson.  This is our time to meet up each year.  The parade featured an array of vehicles, including modern and vintage cars, atv’s, motorcycles, cam am’s, and several fire trucks.  Mary Hutton has a cool camero and it’s always fun to see her in the parade line up. Seen my brother Lonnie on his atv along with Dylan, Bryson and a couple of his granddaughters. My cousin Belinda was promoting her photography business on her float. Seen my dear departed friend Kim’s daughter Sammie Jo advertising her Etsy shop. Floats of diverse themes and designs showcased the creativity and unity  of our close knit community.
