Renting a cabin for Vacation at Broken Bow Okla

This is the cabin we are leaning towards for our upcoming vacation.  It’s definitely bigger than the ones I was looking at for just Mr. C. And I.  We are now going to share with Brody and. Savannah and boys.  I’m really looking forward to this family vacation.

So many things I want to do while in Broken Bow.  First I definitely want to do Girls gone wine.  Everyone raves about this place.  It has a cozy boutique winery & gift shop.  I know I’m taking some frozen Wine-A-Rita’s home. Then Fish Tales Winery & Vineyard is on my list as well.  Can you tell I really want to incorporate wineries into my vacation?

Would like to make a stop at the Forest Heritage Center to get a few brochures for my journals. I am currently working on a June journal for Swap Bot.  They might even have some coupons on activities we can do with Lane and Landon.

For shopping I would like to go check out Janet's Treasure Chest.  My cousin's wife Whitney says it is full of fun stuff.  Broknbo Vintage Market has souvenirs and gifts for all ages. They have a second room  that host a well organized flea market featuring antiques and local art.

They offer many great places to eat.  Am hoping  that we all will go to Greatful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room.  Would also like to try The Blue Rooster it offers Southern eats.  Serves a full bar, outside seating and live music.

I am super excited about this trip.  The drive is about 4 hours and 15 minutes from us.  I haven't been on a decent road trip in forever. Mr. C. always laughs at me with all the junk food and drinks I think we must buy before we even leave town. Of course I know we will make a few pit stops on the way down to Broken Bow Oklahoma.

Shenanigans with Kyndall

Kyndall and I spent several hours outside.  She rode the riding toy, played with her baby dolls, and blew bubbles.

Kyndall likes her picture to be taken.  She should as many as I take of her every time she comes to my house.

Kyndall stayed all night last night.  We ended up going to sleep around 10 pm.  Her dad called us at 11:30 pm and woke us up.  I wasn’t very happy, especially when he said I was just wondering what y’all are doing.

We went to my great niece Laiklyn’s birthday party.  Kyndall and Trevor had so much fun playing on the water bounce house.  Was a good time with family.
Trevor and Kyndall laughed and had such a good time at Laiklyn’s birthday party.  This water slide was a big hit for all the kids at the party.

The mermaid theme was super cute. Thinking it would be cute for one of my granddaughters birthdays.  Kara sure made this a cute party.

Hope Laiklyn had a great birthday!  She loved all her presents she received.  I bought her a princess magnet set, sweet tart rope candy, flavored popsicles (she pit in freezer as soon as they were in her hands) and a small scribble pony, card with $10.00.  I did wait till the last moment to buy her gifts.

Splash Pad with family

Kyndall Mae wondering why the water stopped running.  Told her to push the button.  Thankfully some other child turned water back on for her.

Kyndall is such a “model”.  This her typical pose lately.

Trevor having as much fun as the kiddos.  Makes my heart happy to watch him interact with everyone. He had all the kids laughing.

Trevor, Kyndall and Avery ( our neighbors son.) was surprised to see Ben and Sabrina & Avery and Adeline.

Jessica and Hattie.  Was so glad they made it to the splash pad.  Was a shame that Blake was working.  Of course Logan is a teenager and stayed at home.  He’s way too cool to hang out with the smalls.

Trevor with my great nephew Tyler

Brooks trying to turn the water pipe.  Was glad to have 3 of grandchildren together playing.  Summer time memories in the making for 2024.

Pretty Hattie.  She just hangs out and entertains herself.  I really need to start spending more time with Logan, Brooks and Hattie.
For our small town I think our splash pad is pretty awesome.  We have families that drive up to play from neighboring towns.  Today a group from Duncan Oklahoma was playing as well as us from Rush Springs, Oklahoma.   I know Duncan Okla has several splash pads but don’t think they are as nice as Marlow’s.
I am going to plan on having my grandchildren at splash pad for a picnic and a few hours of fun.  Am going to try to find budget friendly things to do this summer.  Am thinking movies on Tuesday night would be fun for the smalls.  It’s discount night at the Palace Twin theater.

Angel broke wrist

Angel went skating and fell twice on her wrist.  She said it hurt really bad.  Michelle took her to Dr. and unfortunately Angel had broke it.  She may end up having surgery on it as well.  Poor girl has very brittle bones always has since she was born.  We may have to wrap her up in bubble wrap to keep her protected.
She had went skating on Saturday 18, 2024.  This is when it happened.  Angel went two days with this pain.  She must be tougher than we think.  I had a broken wrist and I remember how much pain I had at that point. Which was many years ago.

Redbud park with grandkids

Max was taking a nap waiting on Nana to get to park.  They had just left church.

Clifford forcing a smile for Nana.

Love my selfies with the kiddo’s.  He didn’t let me hold him long.  He wanted to chase after his brother and play in the dirt.  Was so good to see everyone.  Michelle was going to drive to the house.  I figured the park was exactly in the middle of our houses.  So we each only have to drive 12 miles or so.  Plus the kids could play while I was visiting with Michelle.  Clifford is talking so much better.  Am proud of how far he is coming along with his speech.
I need to make more effort to see the grandchildren.  I get so caught up in my own world and haven’t made time to visit with my family.  I know how blessed I am to have my family and I need to show them how much I treasure each and every one of them.

May Daze Festival

This vendor really caught my eye.  I enjoy looking at Goth items.  The young man designed the helmets on table.  With one of the helmets he has won many awards for his design.  For more information head over to Gothicgardens.net.
Or go to Facebook.   Gothic Gardens LLC
The owner is Pamala Crossno.
Her booth was very unique from all the other vendors at the May Daze Festival.  I also liked that her son dressed the part as well.

Mindy and I checking out the booths at the festival.

Hunter Thomas Group performed from 10:30 till 12 pm.  Mindy and I did enjoy listening to him and the others who ended up joining him during his time on the stage.

Mindy got her funnel cake and a cherry lemonade.

I had to have a pretzel with cheese and a strawberry lemonade.  Was surprised by the generous cheese helping for my pretzel.

If I see this food truck again I will definitely order from them.  Mindy’s funnel cake looked very good. As you may know I love food trucks.  Am so glad we are getting more in our area.

I wish I had seen the wine truck!  I would have got me a wine slushy for sure.

Here’s the guy who created the goth helmets.  When I see someone who is true to their character it makes me happy.  I did ask him if I could put him in my blog post and he said yes.

Mindy and I had to have a photo of us together to commemorate our fun day.   Was thankful that Mindy wanted to go with me today.  At first I had thought about going by myself.  Mr. C. Said no Ma’am get someone to go with you.  Mindy is the perfect travel companion. Always good conversation with her.  Love listening to her stories from her life.

April Journal 2024,art journal pages

I have been enjoying the monthly journal swaps at Swap Bot.  I found inspiration of my art pages on Pinterest.  Trying to come up with different ideas can cause my brain to shut down,  When I see other art journal pages I’m like that is a great ideal.

I tried to do a daily entry for every day in April.   The closer I got to the end of April I went back and added photo’s.  I personally feel like the pictures make the journal pop with interest.

My co~worker Shelby about fell down when she return to her desk Saran wrapped along with the aluminum foil.  Took her half the day to get her desk back to normal.  I’m thinking I wouldn’t have taken the prank very well.  I’m not a huge jokester.

Sure enjoyed my niece Kirsten’s wedding.  My granddaughter Kyndall and I had so much fun.  In fact Kyndall said to me later that night she wanted to go back to that party.

My niece Kara and Kyndall.

Staying positive has been hard for me lately.  Almost seems like being negative is easier.  Not sure when I stopped looking on the bright side of things.  I know it has been rough at work and in my personal life.  At work I feel like our department as a whole was being negative.  We are trying to do better, seems to be helping.  I for sure don’t want to be known as sourpuss Karen.
I do believe I will do a journal swap over at Swap Bot for June 2024.  I typically use a composition notebook for my journals.  Glue a couple of pages together to make the pages more stable.  That way if I use paint or alcohol Markers it doesn’t bleed on back of the page.

Shopping day!

Cherrie and I needed a Sunday funday!  Having a Starbucks drink is always at the top of our to do list.  I have to admit I’m glad we don’t have a local Starbucks.  I know me well enough that I would be spending quite a bit each week if it was closer.  This drink was the cookie crumble and was delicious.

We needed new couch pillows. So this was the main reason for trip to Lawton, Oklahoma.  We went to Ollie’s and I found 2 of these pillows for only 5.99 each.

Then found 2 of these pillows for 6.99 each.  I then will order pillow covers off of Amazon in neutral colors for the couch.  These are the size we wanted and cheaper than buying pillow inserts.

We went to Home Depot to buy this weed eater for Brody’s birthday gift.  When we get to store it’s ringing up for $149.00 not $119.00.  With a bit of an attitude they finally adjusted the price for me.  Just felt like a bait and switch scenario.  I was less than pleased with that experience.

We ate at the Fusion Chinese buffet for lunch.  It was not very good.  We have tried it twice and am not satisfied with the flavors.  I did like the sweet and sour soup and the mushrooms.  The fried rice wasn’t one, the flavors was blah on the sweet and sour chicken.
