Roof completed!

Our new roof is completed.  We used WCS roofing out of Chickasha Oklahoma.  Brian the owner was friendly and knowledgeable about roofing. He has been in business for July 1st 1995.  They specialize in roofing, gutters and siding.
So now we are looking at other home repairs that are needed. Our next project will be painting the house.  We are leaning toward gray with blue undertones or off white.  I know myself and will change my mind a few times before we get to painting.  Elizabeth (Mr.C’s ex wife) has been sending ideals my way. We tend to have the same taste in many areas.  Nice to bounce ideals off of each other.  Mr. C tells me we are going to wait till next spring for painting the house.  He says we need to wait on Christmas and house taxes before budgeting for the paint job.  He isn’t wrong but hate having to wait on it.  Our income is going to be stretched very thin for the next 3 years, due to getting loan on roof.
Then I need to focus on my Rock garden. I have been neglecting it for many years now. I will need several bags of white River rock. Then I want to find some cute outdoor decor for that area. It is on the north side of our house. It’s about 16 feet long by 6 feet wide. Which is right about 96 square feet.   We will need landscape material then place river walk then decorate the area. I need to break it down on just how much of each I need. My math skills aren’t great but I know it’s going to probably be more than my pocketbook is going to allow this summer.
Going to be checking out Home Dept gardening center for my needs.  At least get some ideal on how much I will need for this project.  Mr. C has told me a dozen times we have more important things to worry about.  I just know it brings me pride when the rock garden looks nice.

Tearing down the roof

Back on March 14, 2025 Oklahoma had high winds of 75 mph.  It totally rolled up the back part of our roof.  Unfortunately we have a high deductible.  Then factor in depreciation making the insurance payment not much at all. I went ahead and took out a loan to cover the cost of the roof.  Truthfully we badly needed a new roof. The last roof we had was 2017.  They didn’t do us right they ended up adding on top of the two layers making a total of three layers of shingles. WTH?  Which made it hard to find us an insurance to cover the roof.  A hard lesson to learn $10,00 dollars later.

Looks like a big mess but am trusting the process. This crew seems motivated and they are friendly fellows.  They work fast and equally hard.

We already know this trailer is going to leave lots of ruts in our yard.  We have had lots of rain the last several months.  But that will be okay, will work on the ruts once roof is on house.  I am also going to work on making my rock garden pretty.  Haven’t done that project in several years.
In addition to getting the new roof, we will be painting the house. We are leaning toward a darkish gray with blue undertones.  We are going to paint everything the same color this go around.  I will say if I don’t like it I will go back and paint the small trim a different color.  We currently do not like the color we have on the house and shop at all. So it’s time to make changes.

Sunday Funday with Cherrie

Our first stop is Bath and Body. They are having their semi annual sale.  Am looking for a few summer scents for myself. Seems as if I have mainly coconut scents. Need to find some others that I will like using.

Went to Bison Witches Bar and Grill.  Enjoyed the creative decor of this establishment. The food prices were really good. The food was great as well. We absolutely will be back to eat here.

Love the painted walls. So bright and colorful. Cherrie is use to me taking her picture on our travels. She does like me to warn her ahead of time,  seems like I will take pictures when she’s eating or at an awkward moment.

When I see creative art makes me wish that I could draw and paint. My artist skills never developed. My grandma Pearl and Aunt Sandra was amazing artist.

I really think we need a personal driver. So we can have adult drinks when we are out and about. Someone that would fit our vibe.

Overall the decor was great and plenty of room for everyone if they got busy. We went on a slower day so we didn’t have to deal with crowds.

This was my lunch and it was great. Broccoli and cheddar soup in bread bowl with salad. It was delicious.

Cherrie is eating a sandwich that looks good as well.

Cherrie won’t eat all her food either.  I really should have tried some of her sandwich.

This is definitely more food than I will eat! Yes! Leftovers are coming home with me.

This is the band area, so very nifty. Love how creative they have went with this bar and grill.

This is outside and a cool photo opportunity as well.

Cherrie enjoying her moment. That is why we do Sunday Fundays.  We laugh till we nearly pee ourselves. Sometimes we must vent about how the week has gone. Nothing like cleansing out our minds so we can start the upcoming week with positivity.

Seen this on the sidewalk as we walked around downtown Norma.

Enjoyed seeing the sculptures.

This chocolate shop was delightful. I may have bought way too much chocolate to take home.

All the desserts looked delicious. Was so hard to make up my mind.

So many choices and my inner fat girl said buy it all. Of course I didn’t but found many chocolates I had to buy. It’s really hard with me trying to lose weight but yet I walk into a dessert store. Like I have no common sense. Chocolate is my Kryptonite. That’s my weakness of all foods.

Would highly recommend my friends to stop by Apple Tree Chocolate when they are in Norman Oklahoma.

Beautiful day to shop!

Whitney and I made plans today to shop and have a great day together. Whitney is married to Dakota (my cousin.) Whitney and I also work together.  Just love her spunk and the joy she brings to the world. We made plans today go to Basket Market in Oklahoma City. This was our first stop for the day.

Basket Market is Hobby Lobby’s discount warehouse.  So you can find so many great items. Whitney loves Christmas and there are so much Christmas items.  Today I was looking for some beads as I am going to create a journal spine dangle with beads and such.  I also was looking for stickers and scrapbooking items.

D^iso just opened up in Edmond Oklahoma. The only one close to us has been in Grapevine Mall near Dallas Texas.  Love all the goodies you can find in this store. Especially the stickers and scrapbooking items.  Also I am drawn toward the snacks as well.  The store carries Japanese inspired items.

My favorite isle…stickers of course.  Kyndall and I love our stickers.  Can’t find cuter stickers anywhere else.

I love back to school type of products as well.  One can never have enough post it notes, highlighters, cute  erasers, pencils and pens.

Very cute household items. The items are very affordable.  I don’t need any more household items so I just glanced at this isle.  I did pick up baby Liam a fork and spoon travel set that has a cute case. Has cute puppies on it.

Then we drove south down to Norman Oklahoma. On Tic Tok this Donate a Miracle Thrift Store kept coming up on my page.  Whitney and I both like thrifting so this was a must stop for us.  Whitney is having a surgery and told me she is looking for a walker with a seat. Would you believe when we walked in there was “her” walker waiting on her?  It had a few scuff marks but over all was in decent shape all for the great price of $5.99!  No I am not joking!  It was meant for us to stop in that thrift store.  What a blessing for her.

This is in the entry way at the Thrift Store. So colorful and cute.

Wow someone spent time painting the walls.

Had to share the murals as it made me smile.

By this time we are hungry and thirsty. We had left the house at 9:30 this morning. We have traveled some miles and shopped till we were exhausted. Seen Rosa Mezcal on Tic Toc and we both love Mexican food. The ambience was spot on.

Super cool to see the walls painted so bright and full of life.

The restaurant was very busy.

Whitney making up her mind on what she is going to have for lunch.

The food was good. I got the Taco Shots. Oh my goodness they were good.  Way too much to eat in one setting. My main complaint is our server disappeared on us, no refills on drinks, then had to ask another server for our ticket. I am going to assume she was either a new server or just didn’t give a damn about doing her job.  Never less the food was good.

Loved how they decorated the inside of the restaurant. The wall made out of greenery was simple but elegant.

The Creamatory is a fun ice cream and shake store.  If I hadn’t seen it on Tic Tok I would have not known it existed.  I did make sure to put my experience on Facebook, so others could visit it as well.  It was definitely worth the visit.

The owners had a large amount of scary movie items and props. It is decorated very spooky.  They even had a Chucky doll!

This was to the left right as you walked into the ice cream shop.

Several people was wearing costumes. I thought that was a fun ideal but not quite sure why…Untill we heard someone say that if you wore a costume you got 15% off your ticket.  This is Cassidy in her costume.

Winnie is in her costume as well. Am thinking she went with stranger things?  I probably should have asked her.  I did get permission to share their photos on social media.

Coffin coffee table.  The decor brings the store to an entire different level.  Although I personally am not a fan of horror or scary movies, I enjoyed looking at all the props. The owners put together a great vision for the rest of us to enjoy and experience.

I ordered the Wednesday Adams ice cream.  It was chocolate base, chocolate chips, cherry sauce, and raspberry drizzle.  I thought it was going to have Cherry pieces in it but the cherry sauce worked.  The ice cream treat was tasteful.
We got there before opening and a line was already starting.  There was definitely not enough sitting room for everyone. Whitney and I lucked out on finding seats.  The wait time after ordering went by fairy fast. Everyone working seemed to be happy and friendly.  They also handed out treat bags with scary stickers, candy.  That was really fun to see what they picked out for the surprise.
Can’t wait to go back and try something different.
