Recovery mode

Recovery time has been something else.  Most days there is limited pain. On the days the pain is intense I will take Motrin migraine medicine and use the heating pad or the ice pack.  I would rather use the heating pack.  Not a big fan of being cold.  It’s been post op five weeks.  Physical therapy is going well.  I try to do everything they require during my sessions.
I do miss being independent.  Biggest issue is taking off shirts and putting shirts back on.  My left arm just isn’t quite up to that task.  I have missed driving myself.  Which means Luther has to take me everywhere. He would rather be at home in his big chair watching TV.  So when he takes me somewhere I do try to fit in all errands.  Am surprised at myself that I haven’t been more stir crazy being at home several days in a row.  I really don’t mind being at the house.
My next Dr. appointment is March 13th.  Am sure she will let me go back to work.  Definitely let me out of this arm sling as well.

Birthday party for Brooks

How exciting Brooks had his 3rd birthday party at Extreme Thunder.  Everyone had a great time.  The children played on the mats and in the bounce houses that they provide with the rental.
We also got him a car to drive around in!

Paw Patrol is his theme this year. He is all about vehicles.

Cute cake.  They also had pizza and breadsticks and cupcakes.

Brooks is such a happy boy.  He liked waving and telling everyone hello.

Starbucks Barbie Drink

Barbie drink from Starbucks.  I had been seeing this drink on social media.  It looked good and I was determined my next Starbucks trip I was getting the pink drink.  It did not disappoint me at all.  Was glad I had a screenshot of the recipe.  Have you tried it yet?
This is the recipe I told them at the drive thru.
Vanilla Bean crème Frappuccino with half and half mixed with dragon fruit, vanilla syrup and dragon fruit topping with whipped topping.
It was very good. If a Starbucks was close to me I’d be in trouble.  Our nearest one is 30 minutes away. So when I am in Lawton, Okla or Chickasha Oklahoma I must stop for a drink.
Today Cherrie and I was together. Was doing some window shopping and of course we had to see what Ollie’s had in stock.  My favorite place to pick up books and nice journals.  I use the journals at work to jot down notes and such thru the day. Cherrie and I had a great day!

Birthday parties are always so much fun. Great fellowship with family and friends. How cute is this cake? Toy Story was the theme.  I had no ideal how many cute Toy Story toys was out there.  Lane has quite a collection.

Happy Birthday to Brooks!  He is now 3 years old!  He is full of energy and laughter.  He likes to play outside in the dirt or ride the big boy toys.  He especially loves tractors and construction equipment.  He definitely keeps Blake and Jessica on their toes.
We will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday.  Can’t wait to see family and friends!

Lane’s 3rd Birthday

Lane is 3 today!!  He is such a smart and funny little boy.  He is starting to talk so much better.  He is in speech therapy.  Which has been great for him.

Here is Lane, Savannah and Landon.  We went over to have birthday cake.  They are celebrating his birthday this weekend.  Papa and Nana had to get hugs from the birthday boy on his special day.  While we was there Elizabeth and Charles showed up with some small presents for him.  We had a good visit with everyone.

Declutterring 2024

A bag of donations.  It was well past time to declutter our kitchen.  It’s been years since we’ve done so. I had joined a Facebook group and it gave me motivation to get up and get rid of items.

Who needs this many glasses in a cabinet?  We do not use them and haven’t used them in ages. Time to let the old glasses go to a new home.

So much better don’t you agree?  Wow!  Love how much room we gained.  We spent several hours in the kitchen going through each and every cabinet and drawer.

Now we have room in our cabinets.  Now no danger of items falling down on us when we open these doors.  It really felt liberating to let go up everything.  So great full to have made time to get rid of excess clutter.

Toby Keith passing

Toby Keith Covel
My heart is sad to hear off his passing.  Toby Keith was battling stomach cancer.  He was born in Clinton Oklahoma on July 8, 1961.  He passed on February 5, 2024.
Toby Keith was an American music singer, record producer, actor and businessman.
Several of his songs are my favorites.
They include hits, Should’ve been a cowboy, American Soldier, I love this bar and How do you like me now.  These songs take me back to the days that I went dancing.  We had a local club called The Rusty Spur that was the place to be on the weekends.  We always had a great time dancing and learning line dances.  Toby’s music was played a lot during my nightlife years. He will be greatly missed.
Toby fly high and may peace be with your family.
