Busy Monday

Today I have been cleaning house and doing tons of laundry. Mr. C. had to go to a CPR and first aid class for part of the day in El~Reno Oklahoma. So this was a perfect day to get some odd and ends done on the house. I even cleaned out the refrigerator, which wasn't as bad as it could have been with Christmas leftovers and such.
Tonight I am heating up the rest of the smoked turkey and making potato salad, baked beans and deviled eggs. We should have Alisha and Brody and maybe Trevor. It will be nice to have a houseful of teenagers driving me crazy. LOL
Am glad Christmas is over, now it's time to put up the decorations. Aaron told me he might better give me his list early since he didn't get the 2 main gifts he wanted. I didn't tell him the nerf bars for his 4~wheeler is in my craft room. I am waiting on Blake to give them to him. Although I sure had to hear how upset Aaron was with me for not getting them. I can't wait till Wed when Blake gets home from work!!
My #1 goal this year is to hire a housekeeper! I have done without one since April and I am sure missing her. Finding the right person is a pain. Which is why I gave up and have been doing it myself.
Well I guess I will go. Till Next Time:) Karen

7 days till Christmas!!

Where does the time go? I didn't realize that I haven't posted a blog on here since Dec. 6th. Why? I have no ideal... I have been writing in my journal everyday but wasn't getting on the computer at all. I only logged into swap~bot thru my phone. Maybe just maybe I was too busy getting ready for Christmas, but I doubt that is the real reason.

Last night Aaron was sick when I picked him up from his papa Kendall's. I get him home and cook a meal for him and he perked right up. He just needed some tlc from his moma. Thank goodness he is sooo much better this morning!

I so need to finish up Christmas shopping. I am down to stocking stuffers for the boys and it has been a pain to find them cute usable items for the stockings. I also need to get Aaron's Nerf bars for his 4wheeler ordered so they can get here. That is his main gift! Trevor's computer is paid for and I am waiting on delivery. Blake wants Cinch Jeans and a cinch jacket. Which means I need to get it ordered asap. Got to love the Internet!! Nothing like waiting to the last minute to shop for Christmas.

Today I want to go shopping over at Lawton, Ok. Am going to take Aaron with me so we can get some one on one qaulity time. Maybe he can help me pick out some gifts for his brothers...or without him knowing it gifts for him....He doesn't know all my tricks yet:)

I need to get some gifts wrapped today. Thank goodness I have most of them already wrapped or I would be way behind.

Trevor went and stayed at Coby's last night. He was so ready to spend some time with his favorite boy cousin. Usually Aaron stays with Coby and I won't let both boys stay at once. Don't want their Aunt Laura going crazy with a houseful of boys.

Well it is time for me to get busy!!

Monday blues

I so did not want to go to work today, the temptation to stay home was very large! I finally got around and got to work about 5 minutes late. I hate being late but that seems to be my normal routine lately. At least I do call when I know I am running late.

I got off work at 3pm and went over to Blakes to visit with him for a little bit. Then headed home where I washed dishes and a couple of loads of laundry. My normal daily chores. Brody left the house as I walked in.

Now I am waiting on my brother Stacy to show up. I am going to ride to Marlow with him to our other brother's house. Thomas & Dana have a bed Stacy is going to take home.

Have you seen downsized on tv? I have been watching this and I really like it so far. This is one show I dvr and watch when I have time.

I am cold and can't seem to get warm. I do not like cold weather at all.

Time for me to close here...I need to work on my journal for November tonight at some point.

Sunday, December 5, 2010

You have to love Sunday's!!

It is a quiet morning so far, the only sounds I hear is the washer and dryer going. Need to get caught up on laundry since I work all week. I may do some housework after I work on the journal for November that is due out tomorrow. I only have a few pages to finish up with but want to add other items to make it more interesting.

Yesterday Trevor had his wrestling tournament at Edmond Ok. He did okay but not wonderful. I tell him as he gets more experience he will get better.

I also did some Christmas shopping! In fact I do believe that I could be done except for getting the boys ordered and a few small gifts. I need to pull all the sacks and such out of the car and start wrapping them.

Our Bailey Church secret sis party is this coming Saturday at 2pm. I wasn't ready for it at all. I found some really great gifts for my secret sis. I know she is going to like them also!

As I was shopping a thought came to me that I should be buying some items and listing them on EBay. In fact come January I am going to list about 25 items or so and see how it goes for me. I know for a fact I can just about double my money on the items I would list. I am very excited about this new adventure I am going to fulfill.

Have a great Sunday!! Remember live life to the fullest....

Friday is here!!

I came to work at the flower shop today. We were slow at first then we got busy and now we are back to being slow. I actually worked on three swaps while at work:) I am doing a private journal swap she before she sit it up she asked me if I had time to devote to the journal. I was like Oh Yes I have plenty of time. I find that when I do private journals I tend to make the journal alot better. Don't ask me why..it just seems like it is more personal.

Not sure what I am doing tonight. I may go home and just watch Brody (bonus son) lay on the couch and watch his TV programs. I feel like he needs his own TV in his room or we need a TV in our room. Especially the week Luther is gone. I do not like the same programs as Brody.

Trevor has a wrestling match at Edmund Oklahoma tomorrow. Not sure I am going or not. If I am bored I will take off for Edmund. It is almost a two hour trip. It sure would make my little guy VERY happy!! Tevor loves sports and is really good at whatever he does. I really need to be his biggest supporter when he does them.

Well guess I am going to make this short and sweet...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I am so grateful for my family and friends. This is a day to reflect and be grateful for everything that has happened in the past year. I really miss my mom and grandma. This was their holiday that they went all out for.
Aaron and I went with Kendall to eat lunch with his family. I so love his sisters! I am grateful that Kendall has remained in our life after mom passed.
Can't wait for Mr. C to get home tonight. I am going to cook us Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I am prepping some of it tonight. I also need to get on cleaning house. I haven't done much this week. I worked more than usual at the flower shop...anyhoo that is my excuse.
I need to get caught up on a couple of my journal swaps. The 30 day project is due in just a few days and I have several pages I have to get done. Also the journal for Nov is due. Uugh..I think from now on I am keeping the journals down to just a couple a month. I really want to host another mini journal of randomness. It went really well last time. I also am angeling a song lyric journal that I haven't even started on yet. Goodness I need to get off here and get some work done.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Menu Making Day!!

Hump day is here for me. If things go well at the flower shop I can get home at noon or so. I still haven't bought grocerys for our Thanksgiving on Friday. I got up at 5am to take shower and relax. I still need to clean good before Mr. C. gets home Thursday night. He is going to be surprised to find that I have decorated just a little for Christmas.
Last night my niece Kaylee stayed the night with me. She is such a smart and creative girl. I need to spend more time with her. I just get busy and focus on my own world. Aaron stayed all night with Coby last night. Then Trevor stayed all night with Grandma Berdine. Brody went to stay several days with his buddy Calvin down by Ardmore Oklahoma. Alisha is with her mom and Blake is at work. Wow they all are somewhere:)
I still haven't made up my mind for the menu Friday. I might better get busy and make it out. Am thinking I should run to Sam's this afternoon and get a few items. But do I really want to take 2 hours out of my day for a couple of items? I will have to think more on that as the day goes by.
My brother Stacy gave me his debit card to help him out with some bills. I wish he would have done so several months ago. He is so behind and not being focused on the important stuff in life. I know he took mom's death really hard but he needs to clear his head and get back on track.
I guess I will close here it is now 6 am and I need to get ready for this cold day.

Good Morning

I am not a morning person but for whatever reason this morning I was up at 4am. I laid there in bed for awhile and then thought I would watch a few of the dvr shows I have saved. It is now 5am and I think I am sleepy. Of course today is the day I want to clean on the house, do laundry and get my Christmas decorations up. I went and bought quite a bit of decorations yesterday.

Trevor had a Wrestling Tournament yesterday. He lost both of his matches. That little guy does a great job, he just hasn't been doing it as long as the other guys. I am sure at the end of the season he will get more moves down and give them a run for the money.

My nephew Hunter came in 1st place! Hunter is 4 years old and a live firecracker!

Well I am getting sleepy and I do have a full day ahead of me. I am going to lay down for a hour or so and then pop back up and start my day.

It is going to be a awesome day! God is Good!!

Crazy Thursday!

Yesterday was out usual day to get Luther off to work at Shreveport La. I always dread this day but after 2 years have gotten use to it some. It feels like a piece of my heart is ripped out every time he leaves.

Then at 2:45 had to have Blake at the foot dr. in Duncan Ok. Dr. Wright said his foot is rapid healing!! I am so proud to hear that!!
Then Blake and I went shopping. We went to Cruther's western wear and Stockman's. I ended up buying Blake a pair of jeans...Cinch Carters that he really likes. We also went to Murf's guns. I didn't go in because I am not about guns at all! We really had a good time together.

I also ran up to my brother Stacy's house in Oklahoma City last night. We really had a good but fast visit. It is nice to connect with your family every now and then.

Today I had better get up and around and get Trevor to school. Our drive to school takes 25 minutes. He doesn't like to be late it usaully doesn't bother me:))

Have a great and productive day.

A Blessed Day!

I am so very thankful for every day I have with my loved ones. As I reflect back on my life there is so many things I wished I had done different. I will have to roll with you learn as you live. I have never said I was perfect but the big mistakes I have made embarras me greatly. I am going to make peace with God and get right with my life. I can't change the past but I sure can change my future. God is good even in the bad times.

Thanksgiving is upon us. I want this year's Thanksgiving to be special. Especially since losing Grandma and mom back in May. I miss them very much. Looks like the family won't be getting together this year which is horrible because that isn't what they would have want out of us. If I was organized I would cook a huge dinner and invite everyone and if they showed up great and if not that is okay also.

Now I need to get busy doing some letter writing and crafting! My favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon!!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Sunday is the day...

Today is the day I need to do laundry, catch up on my games on facebook, cook a meal or two for the upcoming week, and do some decluttering. Does it sound like I will get it all done? Of course I won''t get it all done but some of it will make me very happy! This morning I have played on facebook and worked a little in my craft room. That room is a disaster!! I have also done 2 loads of laundry so far. I stepped into my bonus daughter's room and she has a HUGE pile of clothes that I need to wash. In fact I found 8 towels?!? So I am going to surprise her and get her clothes all done before she comes back to stay with us. We usually have her every other week. She usually only brings 1 or 2 items to laundry room for me to wash at one time..not sure why.

Swap bot business...I have 4 swaps I need to be working on today to get in the mail tomorrow. The everything journal is packed up and ready to go. That leaves Christmas cards (6 partners) a random envelope, a letter and tea swap. I also need to catch up on my long term journal.

When I get going on the swap stuff I also would like to write at least 3 penpal letters. I need to do that because falling behind isn't a good feeling. Feeling overwhelmed makes me nuts!

My kitchen table looks horrible with swaps and stuff all over it. Just as long as no one shows up I will be okay.

Last night Cherrie and I went to Norman Oklahoma. We went on the hunt for a new bedroom bedding set for her. We had no luck finding one. We enjoyed eating at The Olive Garden. Just getting out of our regular routine was awesome.

My goal this month is to blog 6 or more times. I have lots to say I just need to say it!

Have a Great Sunday!!!

Catching up on the latest news!

I couldn't seem to get on here and post a blog. Not sure if I was depressed or just lost in my own world. When I find myself getting depressed I try very hard to talk my self out of it. If that doesn't help I focus on reading so I can escape the real world. That usually does the trick when I pick up a book and read about other people and their lives. When I start to feel "normal" or what ever that is suppose to be then I merge back into the real world.

Blake broke his foot 2 weeks ago. Yes of course he was riding on his 4~wheeler. I am thankful it wasn't a worse injury.

Trevor hurt his knee about 1 1/2 weeks ago. He was playing at a football game for school. The Dr. told him he was done with football for the season. But the worse news was he might not be able to do his tournament wrestling. You should have seen his poor face I thought he was going to cry. For the good news his knee is much better and he can resume most of his normal activities, unless the knee starts to really hurt then we will have to do a MRI on it.

My house is needing lots of TLC, that is also something I neglect when I am fighting with my bout of depression. Then when i am "ME" I can see how bad the house has got. As in not dusting or doing any deep cleaning that no one seems to notice but me. No one helps me on the house but I am okay with that. Means my job is secure..lol

OHHH!!!! We bought me a new car Oct 29th! I got a 2010 Chrysler 300 and it is white. I LOVE IT!!!!

Getting creative!

This is my brother Lonnie's Harley he just bought. I am waiting to get a ride on it! Lonnie is usually a 4~wheeler type of guy so this threw us by surprise. My boys were real surprised by Uncle Lonnie's new ride, as they all took turns getting a ride.

This is a package I sent for the Fall Color Swap. I went mostly with orange. I then wrapped it up in purple tissue. Was fun trying to find different objects in orange for this swap. I have 3 swaps that go out in the mail today. I also wrote one pen~pal letter. Since I have been seeing some amazing mail art on flickr I am doing my best not to send plain envelopes in the mail. So I pulled out a wallpaper sample book and have made a few envies up so I have them on hand to send out.

Tonight is Rush Springs, Oklahoma junior high homecoming. We picked up Alisha's dress, shoes and jewelry yesterday. Then we went and had our nails done. The day turned out to be very pleasant for us. Of course we dragged her dad around with us. Mr. C. stayed in the truck while we had our nails done. Alisha looked amazing in her dress!!!

Linda's Flowers in Marlow Oklahoma has a lot of dresses that she rents and sells. Tammie has the eye for formals. The best thing is she has all sizes from 0~22. We would have been looking all over Oklahoma and Texas for a dress for Alisha if we hadn't known about

Bright Coloured Envelopes

I have been working on some outgoing mail for swap~bot. I am trying to make my envelopes more colorful. Getting a colorful envie in the mail is so much fun. Here is a photo of a swap I put together for Fall Color Swap. I went mainly with orange. Thought it turned out cute.

Friday is here!!

I am so glad it is Friday! Tomorrow is the big wedding day for Laci and Tyler. The Church is decorated and today is the day to decorate for the reception. Tonight is the rehearsal dinner. Should be lots of fun. They went with fall theme colors. Turned out gorgous!

Today we have to pay bills and do our normal routine. Mr. C has to work Saturday and Sunday. He is training on a joystick rig. He has been using the top drive so this will be a little different for him and his hands. The best part is they will be coming back to Oklahoma. Two years working in Lousianna was way too long. Lot's of miles on the vehicles, that is for sure.

Am sending off two swaps for swap bot. Am sending Tea~rrific and the Fall & Winter tea sampler. Am hoping I get some swap~bot mail today. Love when I get a full mailbox of goodies from swap~bot partners.

Am going to be thinking somewhere I can take the boys for fall break that is coming up this week. I may take them to Six Flags over Texas for the weekend. Trevor already has his season pass and that would just leave tickets for Aaron and I. They may choose to do something else like camping. Which wouldn't be too bad.

Here's a new recipe I tried last night and we all agreed it was wonderful!!

Slow Cooked Pizza in a pot

1 1/2 lb ground beef 3 c. pasta twist cooked and drained
1 chopped green pepper (6oz) sliced pepperoni
1 chopped onion 2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce 1 (14 oz) can pizza sauce
1 sm can of rotel

In skillet, cook beef, green pepper, and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add tomato sauce, pizza sauce, and rotel; mix well. In a slow cooker, place ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or until heated through.

So easy to make and it will probably become a family favorite for us.

Cleaning Frenzy

I thought I would clean my house today. It won't take that long to get it done but I usually put off cleaning till Thursday right before Mr. C. gets home from La. This week is going to be super busy getting ready for Laci's wedding on Saturday. We have got most everything done but we still have odds and ends to finish. Laci is Tammy's daughter (my friend who owns a flower shop in Marlow). Anyhow I thought that by doing all I can today would ease my mind if I help Thursday at the flower shop. I also at some point either today or tomorrow need to cook and freeze a couple of meals for the week Mr. C is home. I have never done that sort of thing before but it sure is handy. Have found out I don't mind cooking 2 main dishes at once and freezing one of them for later. The whole cleanup is easier or so it seems. I also like the fact if we are busy I can take something out of the freezer and pop in oven and we have a good meal in a few minutes. Now I must find some healthy good meals to cook. We are going to get back on a healthier diet.

Here is Jake. Jake is my step mom's big ole baby. We have had him for years and he is a sweetie. He can be protective of the family at times. If Jake don't know you he won't let you in the house. Which is good for my step mom!

I have a couple of swaps on the table I need to put together at some point today. I have 3 tea swaps that I need to get ready to send. I also have a penpal letter and some happy mail to send out Monday morning. Made my happy mail out of a calendar I bought for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree just for this swap. The main requirement was it had to be a decorated envie. So I used a colorful page and added a few bird stickers on the envelope. Thought they turned out cute and colorful.

Song Lyric Journal pictures

I really enjoyed doing this journal. I could probably make more because there is so many songs I like. I tend to make simple stuff and this was simple and fun to do!!

Making Envelopes

Today I made some homemade envelopes using a large space book I bought at Hastings store last night. The book only cost $2.99! I made about 5 envies. I actually even took pictures:)

Today is OU vs Texas game. So that is what Mr. C is watching while I put together some swap bot swaps to get ready for the mail Monday morning. It has been a good day for me to finish up on some projects.

Trevor is playing football at Minco Okla. I didn't go but Papa Kendall and Aaron went. I need to be more of a sports moma. I just feel like I could be doing something else instead of watching football or baseball. I am a lot better than I use to be about attending the events, so that is a great thing!

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Shreveport was good! Wish I could have stayed longer and done more! Going with Patty was a hoot! We got along wonderfully! She is Uncle Timmy's girlfriend ( as Mr. C. calls his BIL. Of course since Mr. C's sister died we still call him Uncle Timmy.

I love the Shreveport La area. Mr. C. doesn't seem to like it as much as I do. The shopping around there is way better than around my small town area!

We got home last night at 2:30 am and I slept till 8:30 am. I got up and started working on my Song Lyric journal. The due date is Sept 30. I think I about got it finished. I am not adding why like each song I choose for it. Which doesn't take tooo long. That doesn't have to be in the journal but I think it makes it more interesting to the partner. I need to get it done here in the next hour so I can go to the post office and get it sent off!

Tonight Trevor has another school football game. I have no ideal where we will be going tonight. I just know that since mom passed away I need to attend more of his games. He said not to bother about tonight they will just lose anyway. The school program is fresh and only 2 players also play on the little might league. Which gives them more experience!

A song that keeps running in my head is by Katy Perry California Girls. I can't shake it and haven't heard it in 3 days or so. Guess I need to go for a drive and listen to it since it's in my cd player in the car.

Working on swaps for swap bot!

This morning I get up about 7am. Today is the day I am going to work on some swaps. I am currently doing a song lyric journal and need 30 songs and I still need 10 to get it finished. I don't have to send it out till Sept 30th. So am going to try to finish it this week! Am angeling a cute and fun journal for the partner that sent to me. The host/her partner flaked on her. Then the girl I sent to won't rate me...uugh. I had a journal with some pages already done and am going to use it instead of wasting the book.

Have been Brody's taxi service today. (Bonus child) Sure will be nice when he gets his license. Then we can worry about him but not have to drive him!

I had a ole friend look me up on facebook today. We use to work at America On Line in Oklahoma City. I hadn't talked to him in like 9 years or so. He was always a nice guy towards me.

Need to make list for my trip to Shreveport La for tomorrow. Am so ready for a road trip. Patty and I are going to have a blast on the trip! Then I get to see Mr Wonderful!! That really excites me greatly!! I need to buy alot of Shreveport postcards on this trip. I have used alot of them in my swaps and am about out.

Have a great evening...

The day with my BFF Cherrie

Spent the day with my BFF Cherrie. I think we had fun. We ran to Chickasha then we back tracked to Duncan. I got a manicure and pedicure while she took Brody to Rush Springs for me. We then went and ate at The China Buffet there in Duncan. The food is always good there. I ran into a ex brother in law Wayne haven't seen him in years. He seems happy and that is good to know. Then Cherrie and I went to Fashion Bug. I bought 2 shirts for fall, 1 summer shirt, a pair of jean capri's and a pair of white capri's also a cute purple purse that goes with the fall shirts! All for a grand total of $62.00. If I had paid full price it would have been around $150.00. I am feeling good about my bargin shopping.
Tonight Luther comes home and I am trying to get supper cooked and house cleaned. We are having Mexican Casserole. Yummy

Football game..

Trevor had a football game this evening. It was Bray~Doyle against Minco. I hate to say it but they won 54 to 0. They beat us down big time! He was mad ALL over. He kept telling me that he had no blocker ...looked like to me he had no help on the field at all. That boy plays his heart out on that field. The high school coach is already got his eye on him. Do I want him to be a all star football player? I am not sure, although Blake was picked as all star player his senior year. But this is my baby we are talking about!
Hey I actually added a photo to the blog! Yea for me!! I can do it but was a chicken to even try!! So hopefully my blogs will be more interesting with some photos with them!! Yes I am very proud of myself!!
Today I got a pen~pal letter from Ca !! I love getting her letters, I feel like we are truly friends. She writes as if I know her family and in a way I feel as if I do! I even started a letter back to her today. Our letters are always long and chatty.
I spent time with Coby and Kaylee today. Picked them up so they could go watch Trevor play football. Aaron and Coby was to busy visiting with girls..Kaylee running and trying to keep up with the boys. I supose it is like a social gathering for the teens...

Friday Night Football

Tonight Aaron and Trevor are at the Rush Springs football game. I hope they are having a good time. I don't usually let them stay at the game by themselves. I believe that at 15 years old and 12 years old they can handle it. I am home relaxing and working on the computer, playing frontierville, doing swap~bot, and now doing my blog.

Today was a good mail day. I received a pen pal letter and a package from swap~bot. Was surprised to get fun mail. In my package I got some cute blank recipe cards. Just in time for a swap that I am doing for crock pot recipes.

Have had some good phone calls today. I have talked to my sweetie Mr. C., and my brother Stacy and my BFF Cherrie. This has been since 7:30 pm. I love these people very much. They complete my life.

It's now 9pm and I need to go get the boys from the game. Am keeping my fingers crossed that Aaron will spend the night with Coby (my nephew). It depends on if Laura will let him, he has been staying almost every weekend with them.

One of my goals this weekend is to make up some envelopes. I have used up all that I had on hand. It doesn't take long and they look so good when mailing.

Being a mom means being on the road.

I have learned today that being a mom means being in the car for hours. I went to pick up the boys from school (left my house at 2pm). It is a 25 minute drive out to their school. Then we drove to town and picked up Blake. Drove to Chickasha OK about a hour drive to get Trevor's new ATT phone fixed. He has only had it 9 days.....Then drove up to EL Reno to Phil's Cycle & ATV. Blake swears that this is the place to buy all the parts he needs. Never mind that Duncan OK which is like right down the road ( 20 minutes or so from my house) but never keeps enough parts on hand. Although they are always willing to order them in, not fast enough for my oldest son. Then we left El Reno and headed back out to Bray~Doyle where Trevor could do the last 30 minutes of football practice. He got done at 8:30 pm and I was glad:) Home sweet home here I come. So from 2:00pm till 9:2o I was in my car so to speak.

Got Mr. C off to work. I know he dreads the 7 hour drive down to Mansfield La. I can tell the last day before he leaves how much he dreads going. I hate to see him leave on Thursday's

I am going to go lay down I am tired and need some beauty sleep! Sweet dreams are sure to find me!!

Swap bot mail day!!

As you may know I am really into swap~bot. I spend a lot of time looking at swaps to enter and also looking at profiles with blogs. It keeps me entertained:)

Today I received 2 swaps. One was for a book swap. The book I ended up with is Club Dead by Charlaine Harris. She is a favorite author of mine. I can't wait to start reading it, which will be tonight while Mr. C is watching his daughter cheer at a football game. I am going to grab a glass of wine and settle in on the love seat and read for a couple of hours.

The other swap I received was a private swap I did with PATUMMA. Wow I was blew away with all the goodies she sent me. The cute pink princess box with a rubber stamp set, with blank cards to use, also there was princess items in there as well. The box was completely full of goodness. I could tell she really read my profile and wanted to put a smile on my face. She hit my likes completely on the head. Thanks to both ladies very much!

Have been reading several new blogs today. I am amazed at how creative they are. I hope as time goes by my blog will grew as I learn to be more interesting.

I recieved this recipe with my book swap and wanted to share it with you ladies. It sounds wonderful for a cool fall evening. I am all about easy receipes.

County Chicken Chowder

Ingredients:
2 TBS butter
1 1/2 lbs chicken tenders, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 cans (10 3/ oz each) crean if potato soup, undiluted
2 small onions, chopped
2 ribs celery, sliced
2 small carrots, sliced
2 cups frozen corn
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 tsp dried dill weed
1/2 cup half and half

Directions:

Melt butter in a large skillet. Add chicken; cook until browned. Add cooked chicken, onions, celery, carrots, corn, soup, chicken broth and dill to slow cooker.

Cover and cook on LOW 3~4 hours or until chicken is no longer pink and vegetables are tender.

Turn off heat; stir in half and half. Cover and let stand 5 to 10 minutes or just until heated through.

Doesn't that sound so very yummy? I am thinking I may go get the items tonight and put it on so it will be ready after the games tonight.

Mr. C bought us a new 42" flat screen TV and entertainment center this past Friday. We are loving it very much. We are down to buying a new bedroom suite and we should be done with furniture. We furnished one room at a time, which worked for our budget. I may end up having to buy Trevor a new bedroom suite but that will be in future.

Weekend again!

Mr. C and I went to Gainsville Texas for the weekend and had a great time! I think we confused our kids by not taking them with us. We really needed the time away from the daily routine. I was very surprised that he had planned this for us.

Tonight we are back home and I need to work on a few swaps for Swap~Bot. I am currently in three journal swaps. One is song lyric journal, one is a 30 day journal and the other is a long term journal.

I bought a Memory Makers book today and it is called Budget Scrapbooking, great ideas for scrapbooking on a shoestring. Just looking thru it I have found several ideals I can use in my journals to spice them up a bit. I am always looking for new inspirations.

We ate at a great BBQ place in Ardmore Oklahoma today called Budro's Rib Joint. It was great bbq!

Peaceful Sunday

What a blessed and peaceful day this has been for me. I have to admit I am a little bored but I have a few things I need to do for swap~bot before mail runs in the morning. I am finishing up on a journal. Looking thru the finished journal I wish I had been a little more creative with it. Hope the reciever will enjoy the effort I put into it.
Have text Mr C. all day long. He is bored at work and I am bored at home. He wasn't seeing my viewpoint at all because he would LOVE to be home with me instead of working. Just 4 more days till he returns home.
Aaron and Trevor stayed the night with Granpa Kendall last night. I told Trevor I would give him $20.00 if he would stay home with me. He wouldn't accept the bribe at all. Good grief...if that had been me at 11 years old I would have taken the money.
My house is clean and spotless:) I have done dishes, made my bed, did 3 loads of laundry, and wiped down the cabinets and counters. Yea!! Tomorrow I have large load of items to take to goodwill. I have decluttered my craftroom, our bedroom, the laundry room and Trevor's bedroom. Even Alisha has decluttered and rearranged her bedroom, first time in along time that it has been cleaned. Am very proud of everything that we got accomplished.

Grilled Roasted Red Potatoes

1 pkg red potatoes
1 Reynolds hot bag extra heavy duty foil bag
2 tbsp rosemary, freshly chopped
1 tbsp parsley, freshly chopped
1/4 tsp garlic salt
3 tbsp whole butter sliced into thin pats or 1 tbsp oil

Preheat grill (medium high)

Open foil bag. Place 1 package of red potatoes inside foil bag. Add the rosemary, parsley, salt, pepper, garlic salt & butter. To seal double fold open end of foil bag. Shake foil bag to combine all ingredients.

To cook, slide foil bag onto support pan & place foil bag onto grill.

Grill 12 minutes or Mediu heat on each side

This recipe looks good and I am hoping to try it the week when Mr. C gets home.

Perfect Weekend

What a wonderful weekend we have had. Last night we went and seen The Grownups at the drive in theatre..Can you actually believe Oklahoma still has one of these in good working condition? Yes we had to have buttered popcorn, nachos, preztals and topped it off with 2 large cokes. The movie was alright, I wasn't very impressed with it myself. It was more of a teenage type movie if I am guessing. I do believe Aaron and Trevor would have laughed all the way thru it.
Today we slept in late for us and then hung out here at the house. I cooked breakfast and washed dishes and then have done several loads of laundry. I never get caught up on laundry, even when I try to wipe it out. Seems like I have a few odds and ends that never get into a load.
Am very proud of our bedroom. I worked hard on it and it shows it. I should have taken before photos of it and posted them. Just didn't want to embarrass myself by letting everyone see the mess it was.
Tomorrow is Aaron's birthday. He wants $200.00 and a 400 EX 4~wheeler. I have been looking everywhere for a good used 4~wheeler. Have looked in Texas, Louisiana and here in Oklahoma. I keep looking in craigslist, and going to ATV stores with no luck yet. I really would like to find one for under $3000.00 but it isn't looking good. The good thing is he has given me a year to find one...that is fair just hope it doesn't take that long to locate one. Trevor just got his new dirt bike several weeks ago. Then Blake got his 4~wheeler not to long ago. So needless to say Aaron is feeling a little left out.
When I asked Aaron what he wanted to do on his birthday he said whatever I wanted to do. WooHoo!! What does moma want to go do...mmm let's see SHOPPING!!! I could take Aaron and get him more school clothes.
Well I guess I will go watch drag racing and see what is happening. Go Force Racing!!! They are my favorites.

Weekend getaway

Thursday Trevor and I went with my friend Kenna and her granddaughter to Norman Okla to a quilt show. We had a great time looking and buying new patterns and material. Trevor tried not to enjoy himself but I could see him taking a real interest in the quilts. We then went to a couple of quilt stores and bought more material. The kids was wanting to eat ..can you imagine that? So we stopped shopping long enough to take them to Chili's for a late lunch.

Friday evening I took Trevor to Ardmore. We got a hotel room with a pool so he could swim and have a good time.

Saturday we did a little shopping then we went to the movies and seen Despicable Me and then we went to Applebee's to eat a late dinner.

Sunday I let him sleep in since we had stayed up till after 2am. Then we got up and I took him shopping for some school clothes. We ended up getting him 3 jeans and 4 shirts. I also bought Aaron 3 shirts and a pair of jeans. I also bought Mr. C 2 shirts. So I felt like today was productive shopping.
I was tired when we finally got home tonight! It was nice to get away and just do nothing. No housework, nobody dropping by to check on us. Nice to relax and reflect and of course shop!
Aaron did not want to go with us so he stayed with his cousin Coby. I tried to get him to go but this really wasn't his cup of tea.

Monday Blues

Today I have a list of things I need to get done around the house. Hope I can at least check off 5 items before this evening. Then I can get busy doing some craft projects I keep putting on the back burner. I want to use my cricut machine and get some die cuts made so I have them ready to use in some of my journals that I am busy working on for swaps.

My to~do list is fairly simple:

Wash dishes and put them away

Make our bed

Vacuum floors (with our new vacuum cleaner Luther bought me last week!)

Clean bathroom

Wash at least 3 loads of laundry. (That would have it caught up!!)

I also would like to go thru one closet and get rid of some clothes I don't wear anymore.

Then I need to declutter the living room.. Called today about getting a big screen T.V. delivered Wednesday. Although I think Luther had a heart~attack when I called seeing as we hadn't discussed it before hand.

My list is short but could get complicated. The more I look around the more I see that needs to be done.

Does anyone have any time saving tips or organization tips they would like to share with me? I would love to hear them.

Lazy Sunday

It has been a peaceful day. We have been watching movies most of the day. Later on we are going to go out to Cherrie and Jackie's to hang out. They came over here for hours yesterday so it is our turn to go visit with them. I am feeling better today after going to the Dr. yesterday. My blood pressure was 180/100. Guess I had better start taking care of my self. I don't feel my age usually but for the last week I felt every bit of 43 years old. I finally figured out what I wanted to name my blog after all these months. So am going to give blogging a whirl.
