Mr. C birthday

Mr. C's birthday is February 29th.. He will be 49 years young.  I can't believe how fast time has gone by for us.  For his special day I cooked ribs, potato salad, baked beans and banana pudding.  He wouldn't get home till 9:30 pm or so.  Am so glad he will finally be home after his long week at work.  I also bought him a big bottle of crown royal, a blue ray player and 2 dvd's. I think he was surprised and happy with his birthday. Then Saturday we decided to take a road trip and ended up staying all night at Ardmore, Oklahoma.  Was nice to get away from the kiddo's.

Creative weekend

It has been a good couple of days.  Trevor and I made Oreo bon bons a few nights ago.  He had asked me if I knew how to make them and I told him to get the recipe and we would give it a whirl.  So he looked up the recipe and did each of the steps himself, although he made me stay in kitchen with him.  He did have me roll them in the chocolate and clean up the mess. He didn't want the melted chocolate all over him.  That is a 14 year old boy for you!  They turned out really good and I do believe he has ate most of them.  I asked him where he had heard about them and he finally told me school.  For Valentines they were selling 12 of them for $5.00 and he forgot to order them.

Last night he and I played dominoes.  Here's the kicker on that one.  I have no ideal on how to play dominoes..so he was talking me thru it and then he said he won the game.  How would I even know the difference?  I wouldn't that is for sure! We had fun and that is all that matters.  Him spending time with me is a blessing!

Have ya'll seen the cute onesie cupcakes everyone is making? They are super cute and easy to make.  I made a set for Tara's baby shower this Saturday.  These are not the ones I made just so you know!  One of these days I am going to get my computer fixed and be able to upload my pictures I have taken.
To make these I took a baby onesie and made it long and skinny and then rolled up a single baby sock and put it at the end of the onesie and then started rolling them up real tight.  Easy Peasy!

I totally got my car stuck in the yard yesterday morning before the snow blizzard even hit. It was raining hard and I parked in front yard knowing better.  Uugh.  Sure was glad Luther left me the keys to his big ole truck or I would have been on foot till he gets home Thursday night. Anyways a good customer of ours came in the store this morning and I was talking about getting stuck and he and his wife are going to come over and get me unstuck.  Lesson learned from now on I will just park under carport or in driveway instead of driving up to the front door or back door as I normally do every single day.

Make up brush holder with rocks

I made a couple similar to this one.  One I put in a small container with a jeweled dragonfly on it for me.  Then made Alisha one in a small clear container I picked up from Michael's.  They were fast and easy to make!

It has been a fun and productive couple of days!  I am so blessed with my wonderful life I have!  Everyone have a great day and thanks for stopping by and seeing me!

Saturday Shopping Day!

This morning I got up and cleaned house and then wanted to get on the road and head to Oklahoma City to do some shopping.  I called my baby brother Tyler to see if he wanted to go and he was down here with my step mom (his momma).  So then I called my older brother Stacy and he said he would go so I picked him up and off we went.  We went to several stores and I didn't find what I was looking for...I am wanting to redo my bedroom ALL the way new decor, different comforter set and sheets and a small area rug.  Couldn't believe I had no luck at all.  Stacy found some western boots at Shepler's he wanted on sale for $150.00.  So he was happy.  The good news is I still have money burning a hole in my pocket.  I am determined not to spend it just to be spending.  I need to make a trip to Kirklands and Burlington Coat Factory soon.

About 6 pm I took him to Chili's to eat.  I was starving!! I had the cajun chicken pasta and it was very yummy!

I got home around 8:30 pm and a few dollars poorer... I do believe I am doing well on saving money.

Sealed Pot Challenge
I have seen this on other blogs but didn't want to join it officially so I started me one but its not sealed.  I need to look at the amount of money I am saving.  Being that I am a visual person and all.  I had to get in it awhile back so I could give Aaron $80.00 for some audio equipment in his truck. I haven't replaced it as of yet. I do have over $50.00 cash and not sure how much change in it right now.  What am I saving it for you ask? I have no ideal but am sure the boys will let me know at some point.

I took a butter container and wrapped it with duct tape cutting out a hole in the top for my money.  Works really well for me.  I may try to make a pretty container as I can tell I am going to need a bigger one if I keep saving change the way I have been since December.  My goal is $400.00 by the end of the year.

Have a great day!!

After The Rush

I am so glad Valentine's week is over.  We worked many long hard hours.  I am always amazed at the amount of money people spend on their loved ones for Valentine's Day.  Mr. C. and I have always skipped this celebration as far as buying flowers and candy and such.  Although he does give me money to go pick out something special.  This year I just put the money up and am saving toward a mini vacation for us.  I always try to put a junk bucket together for him.  He says he doesn't like it but deep down I know he appreciates the thought.  I bought him a big bottle of Crown Royal, a 6 pack of beer, then a heart candy of chocolate, pretzels and assorted "man junk food".  I took the heart candy of chocolate for myself...lol.  He barely made it home for Valentine's night..got in around 9:45 pm.  I sure was glad to see him come thru the door.  The week he is gone is sooo long and lonely.

I finally made my homemade laundry soap! It was easy and fast to make.
                        Homemade Laundry Soap
2 cups of Borax
2 cups of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda
1 big bar of Zote (which I grated using my hand grater)
1/2 cup of oxyclean

Mixed all ingredients together then I put a cup at a time in my blender to make the pink zote pieces smaller.  Then I put in a quart mason jar and assorted containers.
I will only use 2 tablesppons at a time.
So then I used it in a load of laundry..the clothes came out clean but didn't have the smell good that I like to smell.  so back to Wal-Mart I went to get some Gain crystals to put in my wash.  That should do the trick to make my clothes smell awesome.  Wish I had made this stuff before now.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope your weekend is full of love and laughter!
