Sunday Funday

This mural is super cute found in Norman, Oklahoma. In fact we actually turned around so I could take a picture with this mural. I have been on a mission to find murals near to me. We seen many murals that we are going to take pictures of in the future.

Barnes  and Noble Bookstore
Going in to this bookstore is like being embraced by a familiar friend. So many books to choose to buy. I want so many of the new releases on a limited budget.

Who likes a little spice in their books? You better believe I do! I remember years ago my Grandma Pearl said “I don’t need to read an instruction manual on sex.”  She definitely would blush as these spicy books that I have been reading!

It’s time for Lunch at The Sweet Basil Thai Restaurant. Oh my gosh I really enjoyed the food. I will be going back to try different dishes. Do you enjoy trying different foods?

The decor was cute, exactly how I would have wanted the restaurant to look like in real life.

Cherrie had sweet and sour stir fry. She went with zero spice.

I had Pineapple fried rice with chicken. Level 4 spice. Somehow I ended up with zero spice level and Cherrie got the spice in her dish.  I had no clue she could not do “heat” in her food.  We’ve been friends well over 30 years and just finding out this info.

Seems like So many restaurants are putting this on their walls. Makes me wonder what the next decor craze will be?  It’s cute and makes for a nice place for pictures.  As many of  you are aware Iam big on pictures. I remember a season in my life I did not take any pictures of myself because of low esteem.  With doing our Sunday Fundays I need pictures even of me!
After eating we went to Ollie’s for a few things. Found more scrapbook supplies. I spent about $50.00 on supplies.  I do plan on doing a scrapbook haul post soon. I know what I got was well worth the money. I didn’t have many alphabet stickers and bought several packages. Will use them in my journals.
Crest was our last stop. I had my list, then Brody’s small grocery list. Cherrie is getting groceries as well.  Since her list isn’t as much as mine she will grab items on Brody’s list. Am sure she thought she was doing a scavenger hunt.
Overall the day was great. Am always grateful that we are able to get out and have these special days.

Food Compilation of July food

Mr. C. Made us a hotdog and fries for a fast and easy dinner. It was so good. I will always say if I don’t cook it it is always great.

Loaded baked potato for work lunch.

Dinner was baked chicken, dressing, and green beans.

For our dinner I made fried rice and coconut shrimp. Was very surprised that Mr. C. actually enjoyed this meal.

We celebrated Fourth of July at Blake and Jessica’s on July 5th. Everything was so very good. The BBQ was really good. Everyone wiped out the food in rapid succession.

The meat was the main star of the meal.  Love the fact that Jessica enjoys hosting events.

Summertime salads are always the best.

At the Old Plantation at Medicine Park, I got the loaded baked potato and beef tips. Oh my it was very good. I will be going back to try other dishes!

Mr. C. Made us hot links with chili.

Cheesy Bread was good. Any food that has cheese is better! This was the best part of our lunch from Victoria’s Pasta shop in Norman Oklahoma.

The Primavera pasta had a great presentation but fell flat with taste. I was very disappointed with my food. I had seen the reviews online but wanted to make my own opinion. This is one time I should have passed on this restaurant.

Mr. C. Google an enchilada recipe and made it for us. I was really impressed with this dish he served us. Had all the right flavors. He normally cooks his “normal” foods.  He really went outside his comfort zone today.

Spaghetti for the win.

Breakfast was sausage, fried eggs, hash browns is perfect on a Sunday mid morning.

We made a banana pudding with golden Oreos. Took it over to The Seaton’s for the swimmin BBQ party.

Here’s my plate from the swim party.  Charles always does a great job on the grill.
When I put this monthly post about foods we have ate for the month and think dang I didn’t take as many pictures as I thought.  But am glad of the pictures I did manage to take.

Food compilation for June

I have found that I like to look back at the foods I have had over the past month. What I do know I tend to eat a lot of Mexican food during the month.  During summer months we grill out quite often. I try to keep freezer stocked with meats just in case we spontaneously decide to have a cook out.

Salad was good.

Breakfast that I cooked for us. It was really good.

Cherrie’s meal

This was at Witches Bar and Deli at Norman, Okla.

The ice Creamatory in Norman, Okla

Jake’s Ribs are always the best.

I always enjoy our cookout’s, so much food. Always yummy.

The steaks were so tender and good.

The Cotton Blossom Winery wine ice cream.

Chicken and dressing for the win.

Homemade pulled pork on sourdough bread. It was so good. The sourdough bread was homemade that I had bought.

This was at Sophie’s baby shower. Was a very nice selection.

Brody’s birthday cake, had his party at Pizza Hut.
By creating this type of post I have a visual record of what my taste buds leaned toward for that month.  I tend to eat the same kinds of foods consistently.  My husband has always said “why risk trying new foods, when you know what you like.”  In our neck of the woods we don’t have a lot of choices on food. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy Sunday Funday.  So I can try different foods from different cultures.
