Trevor Passed his driving test!

Look out Everyone!

Here comes Trevor driving by himself!  He took his driving test at 2pm and he passed!  Am so proud of him.  When he got home he jumped in his truck and went to town.  BUT the first place he went was to put in his application at Marlow Foods!  He goes back tomorrow for his interview!  He did this all on his own.  I am very proud of him.

This is similar to his truck...Again I need to take some photos of him with his truck.  IF I can get him to agree with it.

By working that will keep him out of trouble!

Trevor's 16th Birthday!

Happy birthday to my baby boy.  He has grown up super fast.  I am blessed to have such a good, caring son!  He is in 10th grade this year..

I can't find a current photo of Trevor.  This was taken last year on our Galveston Texas vacation.  It looks like I need to get busy and take some new snapshots of my son.

Ready for Fall!

Am so ready for fall! I love sitting outside on my patio in the mornings drinking my pumpkin spice coffee.  Then at night snuggled up on the couch with a blanket.  I seem to be more creative in the fall months.  This Christmas I want to make my 3 sons quilts.  Which means I need to clean and organize my craft room once again and get my sewing machine ready to roll.

Am ready to make some new fall recipes!  Mr. C. told me the other day he wasn't a big fan of crockpot cooking.. Oh dear I have always used the crockpot during the fall season.  Had no clue he felt that way.  Guess what I am not changing my cooking habits because he has always eat what I have fixed without complaint.. Here is a recipe I am for sure going to try this fall!

Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken

    Ingredients

    Instructions

    1. In slow cooker, add chicken broth, beans, corn, tomatoes, cilantro, scallions, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne pepper and salt and stir to combine.
    2. Lay seasoned chicken breasts on top of other ingredients inside slow cooker.
    3. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours.
    4. Half hour before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return shredded chicken to slow cooker and stir it into other ingredients. Adjust salt and seasoning to desired taste.
    Recipe is from skinnytaste.com

Some other things I am going to do to get ready for fall is I am going to organize my stuff I have been buying with coupons for super cheap.  I have decided to  utilize Trevor's closet space and put a bookcase in it to hold my little stockpile I have going on.  I have bought 6 bottles of Tide for $2.50 each and I have about 3 bottles of shampoo and conditioner I paid vey little for them.   Right now I have the bottles of Tide in my laundry room on top of the dresser.  Doesn't look so good and makes the room feel cluttered.  Another thing I am going to do is get rid of a lot of my stuff out of the bedroom.  I feel like I have piles of something in every corner and its closing in on me. Maybe I can get stuff ready for a garage sale in two weeks and make some money to buy a few outfits for fall!

Yes I am very excited for fall!  Anyone have any special trips or plans for this season coming up?
Please share with me if you do!! Would love to hear about special traditions, trips and such for you all!

    Road trip!

Yesterday (Tuesday) I drove 4 hours to Wheeler Texas. Mr. C. had to go back to work early and I told him I was coming to stay a few days with him.  Of course I can't go to work with him, but I plan on taking some photos of the town and exploring a bit. I also will take time to get a few letters wrote as well. I can always find ways to entertain myself.  Mr. C. gets worried that I will be bored. By now that man should know I will find something to waste time on.  (He thinks my pen pals and couponing is waste of time). He has no ideal how much I enjoy writing my friends! ).
We are staying at Baymont Inn & Suites here at Wheeler Texas.  They are nice rooms. This one hasn't been here too long, so it feels modern and up to date.  Love the huge towels they have in bathroom! I also can't wait to try out the hot tub!
I need to go down and see what they are having for breakfast this morning.  I would like a cold cup of orange juice.
Everyone have a great day! I know I will!

    Being Ms. Suzie Homemaker

Last night I decided to make more homemade laundry soap since I was at the bottom of my container.  I love making my soap and it doesn't take very long.

I used one bar of Zote  used cheese grater on it.
Then I put in 3 cups of Borax
Then 3 cup of Arm and Hammer washing soap
I also added one cup of Oxi clean to it.

Mixed it all together and BAM great detergent for the laundry!!

    Using Coupons

I haven't clipped coupons on a regular basis in many years.  So I have been trying to use coupons lately.  At first I looked at it like a job, spent hours looking at ads and cutting out the coupons.  With that being said I only did it a couple of times in May and thought uugh I really don't enjoy doing this very much!

Saturday I had gone over to Lawton and had a few coupons with me and went into Walgreens.  I decided to treat couponing as a game to win money.  You know I was thinking can I save money and enjoy clipping coupons at the same time? The answer is yes!!

Most of ya know I am NOT up to date on technology.. I actually figured out how to upload online coupons to my Walgreen card.  AMAZING!!  Had no ideal it was so super easy to do.  Although next time I will make sure to write down the coupon I uploaded to the card...lol
That would have helped me a lot if I had done that simple task.  Once in the store I had no ideal what coupons I had available.

I ended up buying $47.42 worth of stuff for only $30.74.  My goal is to get better each time I shop with coupons.  I actually had a savings of 37%..not to bad at all!!

    Happy 4th of July!!

Can you believe it's already July?  Today is the 4th of July!  Love celebrating our independence day. I had asked Mr. C.  if we could cookout today and of course he was all for it.  I went and bought enough stuff for a small army.  We had hot links, smoked sausage, hamburgers, steak and pork chops. I made baked beans, homemade potato salad and pea salad.  It was super delish!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July!!
