Saturday Shopping Day!

This morning I got up and cleaned house and then wanted to get on the road and head to Oklahoma City to do some shopping.  I called my baby brother Tyler to see if he wanted to go and he was down here with my step mom (his momma).  So then I called my older brother Stacy and he said he would go so I picked him up and off we went.  We went to several stores and I didn't find what I was looking for...I am wanting to redo my bedroom ALL the way new decor, different comforter set and sheets and a small area rug.  Couldn't believe I had no luck at all.  Stacy found some western boots at Shepler's he wanted on sale for $150.00.  So he was happy.  The good news is I still have money burning a hole in my pocket.  I am determined not to spend it just to be spending.  I need to make a trip to Kirklands and Burlington Coat Factory soon.

About 6 pm I took him to Chili's to eat.  I was starving!! I had the cajun chicken pasta and it was very yummy!

I got home around 8:30 pm and a few dollars poorer... I do believe I am doing well on saving money.

Sealed Pot Challenge
I have seen this on other blogs but didn't want to join it officially so I started me one but its not sealed.  I need to look at the amount of money I am saving.  Being that I am a visual person and all.  I had to get in it awhile back so I could give Aaron $80.00 for some audio equipment in his truck. I haven't replaced it as of yet. I do have over $50.00 cash and not sure how much change in it right now.  What am I saving it for you ask? I have no ideal but am sure the boys will let me know at some point.

I took a butter container and wrapped it with duct tape cutting out a hole in the top for my money.  Works really well for me.  I may try to make a pretty container as I can tell I am going to need a bigger one if I keep saving change the way I have been since December.  My goal is $400.00 by the end of the year.

Have a great day!!

After The Rush

I am so glad Valentine's week is over.  We worked many long hard hours.  I am always amazed at the amount of money people spend on their loved ones for Valentine's Day.  Mr. C. and I have always skipped this celebration as far as buying flowers and candy and such.  Although he does give me money to go pick out something special.  This year I just put the money up and am saving toward a mini vacation for us.  I always try to put a junk bucket together for him.  He says he doesn't like it but deep down I know he appreciates the thought.  I bought him a big bottle of Crown Royal, a 6 pack of beer, then a heart candy of chocolate, pretzels and assorted "man junk food".  I took the heart candy of chocolate for myself...lol.  He barely made it home for Valentine's night..got in around 9:45 pm.  I sure was glad to see him come thru the door.  The week he is gone is sooo long and lonely.

I finally made my homemade laundry soap! It was easy and fast to make.
                        Homemade Laundry Soap
2 cups of Borax
2 cups of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda
1 big bar of Zote (which I grated using my hand grater)
1/2 cup of oxyclean

Mixed all ingredients together then I put a cup at a time in my blender to make the pink zote pieces smaller.  Then I put in a quart mason jar and assorted containers.
I will only use 2 tablesppons at a time.
So then I used it in a load of laundry..the clothes came out clean but didn't have the smell good that I like to smell.  so back to Wal-Mart I went to get some Gain crystals to put in my wash.  That should do the trick to make my clothes smell awesome.  Wish I had made this stuff before now.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope your weekend is full of love and laughter!

Fashion Show

Today we closed up the store early and forwarded the phone, headed to Dallas Texas.  We went to a fashion show of the new prom dresses. Tammie, Mildred and I went. They served a great buffet with your choice of wine or beer or tea and water. I had the white wine with my meal. After the show we shopped for new dresses and ended up taking 12 must have's home with us.  It was very much fun and am looking forward to going next year.

I got home around midnight, which is way past my bedtime!

Full Mailbox

I finally got my Beauty Army Box and Ipsy Box.  Loved everything I received.

Beauty Army

I haven't tried this sample of serum and moisturizer from Enspri skincare yet. Lately I have been using what my hairstylist has recommended for my hair. Am thinking I will give it a try over the weekend.

This is from Whip Hand Cosmetics in the camo collection eyeshadow it is beige colored shade in the camo collection.  It is called air force.  It's a tiny sample so I poured it into a round clear container so I could use my eyeshadow brush. Love shades like this very much.

I got several more items but these were the ones I was impressed with the most.

Ipsy Bag

This was my first month and they went with Super Star theme.  I loved my bag especially.  Who doesn't need a extra bag laying around?  I plan on using my in my suitcase for when I go see Mr. C in Wheeler Texas every other week.  It's a perfect size for a dab of make up.

Love Love this hair spray and already use it.  This is awesome to take on my trips with me!

Isn't this a cool shade of nailpolish? It will be perfect for Valentine's Day! It's nailtini brand.

Getting these samples was so much fun! I am so glad I found them.  Am thinking my bonus daughter would love a box of Ipsy every month.  I am going to talk to her dad and see if he will do this for her!
If you haven't tried out a sample box I urge you to give one of these a try. Beauty Army you get to choose your samples.  I like that very much.  Although I like the element of the surprise in the Ipsy bag.  Don't tell anyone but I did take a sneak peak.
Have a great day!!

New Beginnings

I have decided that I wanted to try new brands of make~up. What better way than doing a monthly subscription box. Several years ago I ordered a box and wasn't very pleased with it. I noticed it wasn't around anymore. So anyways I am getting boxes from Beauty Army, Ipsy, The Cotten bunny.  When I get them in I will post a mini review and take photo's..(hopefully). I love getting samples but tend not to use them.  On the other hand I don't want to spend full price for make~up and realize I don't like it.  Since I bought these samples I am going to make it a priority to use them everyday.

I am also keeping watch over my finances better. I do not keep track of what I spend on a daily basis. All my bills come directly out of my account except for a small loan. I never know what I have in my personal account ever. Although I do know what we have in the main household account, Mr.C and I sit down every two weeks and go over our budget and such.  I also know what's in his wallet as well.  That's bad on my part.  So I am trying really hard to record ALL my spending. Wish me luck!

crafty day!

I wanted to do something different today  ...not the usual watch football or movies.  I had bought some tiles at Home depot and decided to try making some tile coasters.  The first set I used  scrapbook paper and they turned out cute. Then I used some paint chips I had picked  up and they are okay but the corners lifted up. Then I used Christmas paper and they didn't turn out so well.

Then I made 5 different bracelets. I never make jewelry but found a brochure at Joann's and it looked super easy. They turned out really cute! Yea for me!
I had a fun day doing crafts. What new projects do you want to try or are currently working on?  I want to break out my sewing machine and get busy making a easy quilt or even totes.  Well that's all I know for now..

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyones Christmas was awesome. We had a white Christmas and stayed nice and toasty indoors all day. The roads were icy and dangerous so staying home was a no brainer for us.

Trevor my youngest son got his 12 gauge pump gun and loved it!  Bought him several boxes of shells for target practice.  Am considering buying my self a 12 gauge pump as well.  Would make a nice gun for home protection when Mr. C. is gone to work. Although I think my pink semi~automatic should handle that job fairly well.  Am so glad I finally got my concealed to carry class out of the way. Not that I would ever carry it open. To me that is just crazy. I have it for my 4 hour road trip (one way) to go see Mr. C. when he is working in Texas.  Me having this gun scares him very much..as he just doesn't like having guns around.

I am so behind on letter writing. I haven't wrote any pen pal letters in two long weeks. Which means no cool letters in my mailbox for me to read. Thank goodness for Christmas cards or I would have had sad mail days.

Guess I will close for now.  Good night everyone!!
