1st day at Broken Bow

We are on the road to Broken Bow at 9:30 am.  It’s a four hour drive down there.  I’m kinda regretting telling Mr.C. I would do all the driving.  Once we got to Broken Bow we stopped at Pruetts grocery store and got our groceries. We spent a total of $315.00 for 4 days.  We do plan on eating out mostly.

We followed Savannah, Brody and Lane and Landon and so I didn’t have to navigate the trip. Even though I did have the map pulled up.  Told Mr. C.  that it made me feel more secure know twist and turns coming up, so I’m not blindsided.

The grocery store was quite expensive to say the least.  The layout was tricky to figure out.  Savannah and I both agreed the fruits and vegetables looked very appealing.  Our local small town fruit selection is pitiful compared to this grocery store.

We absolutely love our cabin.  It’s very clean and has everything you would need.  Was glad to see the crockpot just in case we want to put something on for dinner while we are exploring.  I know tonight we are going to eat Greatful Head pizza.  I am really looking forward to eating here. Have heard it is so good.

Here we are packed up to go on vacation.  Mr. C. Says I packed way too much.  I told him that I didn’t pack as much as I wanted.  We are planning on fishing tomorrow.  Can you spot my pink and purple tackle box? Mr. C. And I both have new fishing poles and reels.  Hopefully they will bring us good luck.

See the blue small bag?  It’s my drinks and snacks.  Is a road trip complete until you have drinks, sweets and something salty?  Am not sure if we will use the Yeti or not but I brought if we wanted to use it during fishing.

Electric & Water Well issues

Nothing like having to call an electrician out because you have no water.  Mr. C. first called a nice young fellow out and he was behind schedule but was able to patch the issue for the day.
Then he called Ben (our dear neighbor) he came after work and got us in good working condition.

So apparently we had a goffer that chewed thru our wires that ran electric to our water well.  I know for sure that we can’t go without water.

So glad we got the electric back on.  So thankful that we had someone to call regarding the electric.  Hopefully this fix last us for several years.
Being a homeowner can be a blessing till repairs are needed.  Then it can become quite expensive.  I try hard to keep a raining day fund saved.  As you never know what is going to happen.

Chopped off my hair!

This is my new do.  Wanted to get my hair done before we go on vacation.  Stacy cut off around 5 inches.  It was mostly dead ends.  I couldn’t believe it has been 13 months since my last hair appointment.  I really need to be more conscious of getting my hair done every 8 weeks or so.

I love the cut but wish my color was a bit more silver.  Am thinking next color I will ask her to go a tad bit darker.  Arrived at shop at 4:15 pm and got home a little after 7pm.  Made for a long day.

Happy 31st Birthday Brody!

Brody with his cakes.  Thankfully the rain stopped so we could enjoy the rest of the celebration.  The view is great as I enjoy the water.

Mr. C. And I just enjoying visiting with everyone.  A random picture of us enjoying life. I treasure the photos that we have of us.  There isn’t many that is for sure.

Alisha and Jonathan.

Savannah with Landon with Addie

The children had fun chasing each other.  Sure wish I had some of their energy.  I don’t think they slowed down the entire time we were at lake.

Elizabeth and Sabrina with Avery, Landon and Addie

Sabrina with Avery.
I must admit I really enjoyed the afternoon at Lake Taylor.  Making memories and getting together with others always makes my heart happy.  I am hoping to spend more time at the lake.  Since I do have my fishing license all I will need is my lake permit for the summer.  The lake permit will be $17.00 for a year that covers Mr. C. and me.

Farmers Market Chickasha Oklahoma

I had seen the Farmers Market on way to Air show and knew I would stop by on way back home.  First thing I bought was a sourdough jalapeƱo cheddar bread.  I have seen on YouTube many ladies making sourdough bread. Knew I wanted to try it.

This nice lady and her daughter had a cute booth.  Her daughter is in 4h and had several projects that she made and was selling. Mom offered classes in making sourdough bread.  Wouldn’t that be a fun girls day?  Although most of my friends are not interested in this lifestyle.

Next time I plan on buying the homemade buns.  They looked really good. Although I don’t think Mr. C. will like them as much as I will.

Fresh vegetables aplenty.  Was a bit sad that tomatoes aren’t ready yet.  I was planning on buying a few to make tacos tonight.  There went that plan. Instead I am going to ALDIs and picking up deli meat turkey and Ham.  Will grab a couple of different sliced cheeses,  am going to make us sandwiches using the sourdough bread.

I could tell many vendors had left by the time I arrived. For some reason I feel like I have to buy from each vendor.  Not sure why I feel guilty if I don’t, does anyone else feel the same?

My goodies I bought was a car freshener, a bee book mark, plum jelly and sourdough jalapeƱo cheddar sandwich loaf, zucchini’s and yellow squash. So bought from four different vendors.  Must remember to take cash as several vendors do not cards.  Thankfully I had enough cash for my bread and bookmark.

Today was great and I enjoyed my adventures.  Felt good to be out and making memories.  Am telling you this is the season I am going to be exploring.  I might be going on a budget but still having fun living life.

Chickasha Okla Air Show 2024

Brenda asked me if I wanted to go to the air show and at first I said no thanks.  Then I called her back and said yes I will follow y’all up there.  So I left house at 8 am and met her at the intersection for Highway 81.  It’s about 25 minutes to the Chickasha Municipal Airport.

The signs were posted as we walked toward the activities.  Which was good to see as I wasn’t sure what to expect.  This was my first time to experience an air show. Or else I just don’t remember.

The map was not wrong.. we walked all over the area.  As you can tell this post is over loaded with pictures.  I absolutely enjoyed all the sights to be seen.  People watching never grows boring for me.

I had no ideal Chickasha had this bus. Definitely caught my eye.  You know they put some money into this  project.

Caiden is autistic and did really good today.  I felt blessed he held my hand as we were walking.  He also had me carry his goodies he picked up from the assorted vendors. I myself enjoy the free koozies, ink pens, pad of paper and the squeeze balls.

Jessica and Caiden trying to figure out our next direction to take.  We just let Caiden lead us.  What I liked was he wasn’t in a hurry.  So by letting him be in control that helped with him not being over stimulated.  We tended to stay away from large groups of people.

How cute is this beetle? Caiden was intrigued by this car.  I liked how they placed the cars under the hood.  Made it stand out for sure especially to the younger ones.

Was Ted a picture of the three of them. Would you believe I forgot to get one of me.  Should have taken a selfie in front of a smaller plane or something.

Purple corvette is beautiful! Purple is one of my favorite colors.  As we were getting finished with the car show area more of the antique cars started arriving.

Caiden making a necklace at a kid friendly booth.

Am glad I went and enjoyed the morning with family.

This is special to us as Destry Horton is from Rush Springs and died fighting a fire.  He was well liked in our community.  He went back to try to save Larry Joe not realizing Larry Joe was already in truck.  Just a horrible situation.

Did get to see many of our service men out and about this morning.

How cute is this airplane?  It is show ready!  It was my favorite.
Overall today was a great experience.   To sure why I haven’t been attending more air shows.  You can bet from this point on I will be attending more of these type of events.  I’m close to Fort Sill, Altus Air Force base and Tinker Air Force Base just to name a few.  Am sure they offer events as well.  Now I am on a mission to locate more fun days.
If you see an event like this being held go enjoy it!  You will not regret it.  Life is to short not to be living life and enjoying outings with family and friends.

Renting a cabin for Vacation at Broken Bow Okla

This is the cabin we are leaning towards for our upcoming vacation.  It’s definitely bigger than the ones I was looking at for just Mr. C. And I.  We are now going to share with Brody and. Savannah and boys.  I’m really looking forward to this family vacation.

So many things I want to do while in Broken Bow.  First I definitely want to do Girls gone wine.  Everyone raves about this place.  It has a cozy boutique winery & gift shop.  I know I’m taking some frozen Wine-A-Rita’s home. Then Fish Tales Winery & Vineyard is on my list as well.  Can you tell I really want to incorporate wineries into my vacation?

Would like to make a stop at the Forest Heritage Center to get a few brochures for my journals. I am currently working on a June journal for Swap Bot.  They might even have some coupons on activities we can do with Lane and Landon.

For shopping I would like to go check out Janet's Treasure Chest.  My cousin's wife Whitney says it is full of fun stuff.  Broknbo Vintage Market has souvenirs and gifts for all ages. They have a second room  that host a well organized flea market featuring antiques and local art.

They offer many great places to eat.  Am hoping  that we all will go to Greatful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room.  Would also like to try The Blue Rooster it offers Southern eats.  Serves a full bar, outside seating and live music.

I am super excited about this trip.  The drive is about 4 hours and 15 minutes from us.  I haven't been on a decent road trip in forever. Mr. C. always laughs at me with all the junk food and drinks I think we must buy before we even leave town. Of course I know we will make a few pit stops on the way down to Broken Bow Oklahoma.
