Memorial Day

I took Bubbles for boys.  Kept Landon occupied for hours it seemed.

These boys sure enjoy the seeet treats.  

We had lots of  good food. Luther and I brought all the meats except for deer steaks (Brody) and hotdog Weinners ( 

Elizabeth’s deviled eggs are always So good. 

We made potato salad. 

Elizabeth and Charles made the beans.  I always request Charles baked beans!

This was my plate.  I might have overloaded my plate.  Definitely  cheating on my diet today. Way too much food.  Brody sure outdid himself grilling all this meats. Am always glad they let us come over to his house for celebrations.   

The day was filled with laughter and joy.  Great fellowship. 

 

Sunday Funday

I went to Chickasha Oklahoma today. I wanted to stop in a few stores. I also knew I would be getting lunch before going to Walmart. I need to pickup groceries for our Memorial Day cookout for tomorrow.  My goodness I forget how busy Walmart is before a holiday. Yikes!! People were everywhere. My next to last stop is Burger King to take home. Then the final stop will be Starbucks for a white chocolate latte and a lemon pound cake.  

At Dollar Tree I needed the aluminum plans for the cook out.  I also picked up plastic silverware and napkins. 

My second stop at bealls.  Am looking for summer scent bath products.  Didn’t find any I liked.  So bought a cute outfit for Savannah and Brody’s baby shower. 

I would buy all the pretty purses on display if I had funds for them.  I still love my purse Luther got me for my birthday. It’s a spring time one with pinks and flowers.

Ham slider and jalapeño bites with bronco sauce. So yummy.

Strawberry lemonade is another of my weakness.  Perfect drink for spring.

At the famous leg lamp here in Chickasha.  I believe this is my first picture where I’m in with lamp. I had a stranger take it for me.  She was very nice and had a great conversation. She lives in Tulsa Oklahoma and went solo camping at Wichita Mountains.

As many times as I have been to the Grady County Courthouse didn’t realize it was art deco.  Will be going back to take pictures inside as well.

More birthday Shenanigans

My first time at World Market at Norman, Oklahoma. I was really impressed with everything they had. The variety blew my mind. 

Loved browsing thru all the rea section. I picked up some cute stationery for my pen pal letters. 

Yes I took another selfie while in store. Got to make memories as well as capture them as well. 

I should have bought me a wine.  Everyone knows how much I like my wines. 

Haven’t been to Barnes and Nobles in several years. They had quite a bit of spicy books on display. 

Met up with Cherrie’s so. Cory and Hailey and her boys for dinner at Red Lobster. Had a great visit. 

My favorite Chicken Alfredo. 

Was a wonderful Sunday!  

 

It’s my Birthday!

For my birthday I went to Stacy at Hair Hut. Wanted to look nice for my birthday dinner at Applebees.  Stacy always does a great job on my hair.

Birthday flowers from my youngest son Trevor, Mellissa,Kyndall and baby Liam. I was so surprised! Absolutely loved them.  She ordered from our local flower shop Winnie’s.

Am ready for my birthday dinner! 

My husband’s first time to eat at Applebees.   To sure why but he did agree to indulge me on my birthday. He actually enjoyed his food. So maybe he will go back with me sooner than later. 

My dinner was really good as well.

Cherrie had the steak and said it was delicious.  Am so glad she took time out of her day to spend it with us. 

Afterwards Cherrie and I went to casino and played for a short moment. Lost the money I took in Drats.

I have mixed thoughts on turning 58 today. On one hand, I don’t really hold much weight in what number I am.  I will say I never thought I would be of this age, but yet here I am. I think what’s different is  all of a sudden I am feeling like my life expectancy has shortened quite a bit. This means I need to fully start living each day doing what brings me happiness and joy.  More importantly spending time with my treasured loved ones. 

This realization is actually providing clarity tome. Making me think about my life day to day rather than putting things off for later.

What I hope by turning 58th is I can find new adventures, including traveling or even learning a new skill. So many options out there for me. I need to find out how to continue to enjoy each and every day of my life. 

I am also prioritizing my Well~being. Seems like it’s almost too late but am working on my weight and eating healthy. Have been making small changes and I am starting to see and feel the results.  It’s not easy but I am glad I am pushing myself to do better. 

By turning 58 it has been a time of reflection, acceptance, and anticipation. I am ready to embrace new possibilities, and make the most of the remaining years.

Self~compassion Day

For my birthday I am treating myself to a Self~indulgence day.  First a full set of nails and a much needed pedi. I always use Jon at Uptown nails.  Have been going to him for years.  

His sweet wife always does a great job on my toes. 

Next on my list was a new boutique called Inside & Out. Been wanting to go since they opened. Finally made time to visit. I should add it’s a bit on the pricey side but they have so much to see. 

The way they have it set up is really nice and pleasing to the eyes. 

Royes is inside as well. I could not resist the iced bourbon caramel coffee. It was really good. I will be back to try several of the other iced coffee’s. 

Check out this Key lime pie bar.  It melted in my mouth. It was full of flavors.  All the pastries looked amazing.  They had the coffee shop set up with tables and couches so it was very inviting. Would like Cherrie and I to go and hang out and visit. 

 

Birthday celebrations is beginning!

 I took off the rest of the week for my birthday.  This is how I spent most of this beautiful Wednesday. Got lots of snuggles from Landon and Lane.  I really am looking forward to five days off.  A much needed break from work and stress.  

Things I hope to accomplish include getting caught up on pen pal letters.  I also need to get a few blog entries posted.  I also need to clean out my Jeep inside and out.  I also want to hang out with my BFF Cherrie on my actual birthday along with my husband.
