Friday night shenanigans

Cherrie and I made a quick run to Lawton Oklahoma tonight. We stopped at Home Depot to get Cherrie some flooring for her bathroom. I also looked at the new refrigerators. There was several that was in my range, but I wasn’t 100% sure that they would fit in my spot.
We then went to S & B burgers for dinner. I really like the hamburgers there as well as the ambience. This is our second time to go here. They were busy, but it didn’t take long for him to get our food out. And our waitress was really quick and friendly.

The decor takes me back to high school days. I really liked th older bands as well as the big hair bands.

Cherrie is extremely tired in this picture. She has been working nearly 80 hours a week at two different jobs. If she knew I was posting this picture, she would probably not like it. This is a real life though.

I thought the hostess stand was cute so of course I took a picture of it.
We didn’t stay out very late. I was back at home by 9 PM. What I do know is that I do not like Lawton at dark. There is just a lot that goes on over there, especially with it being a Military base.  When we left the restaurant some random man tried talking to Cherrie. That kinda freaked us out.  He was on foot didn’t look homeless but one never knows what other people is thinking.
Our evening out was much needed as we needed to catch up on our personal lives. Plus it had been several weeks since we had been on an outing.

Max & Wesley party

Max and Clifford at Chuck E Cheese at Lawton Oklahoma.  They really enjoy celebrating their birthdays here.  In our rural area not a lot of options for children’s birthday party’s.  They enjoy playing the games and the trampoline area.

The kids grandpa on Michelle’s side sitting with Wesley.  I can’t believe Wesley is 13 years old. Time sure flies by so fast.  What a divine privilege to witness their growth! I am deeply grateful to see all grandchildren thrive and reach their full potential.

Clifford and Wesley.

Angel enjoying the day.

Max is so cute and full of personality.

They put Clifford’s name on cake because he didn’t get a party when he turned 6. I had already gave him his presents back around his birthday.  What I know is on Clifford’s birthday I will dang we’ll make sure he has a party of some sort.  No matter what!
My mom was a single mom and we were pay check to pay check but she always had a party for us no matter what.  I will make sure Clifford and Max have birthday party going forward.  I anticipate my grandchildren to feel valued and loved by this Nana.
So greatful that Michelle invited me to the party.  I know it’s awkward and confusing to all of us considering all the circumstances.

Kyndall loves her gymnastics.

Am so glad Mellisa sent me this picture of Kyndall. She just put her in gymnastics a few weeks ago.  Kyndall loves tumbling as much as chatting with the other girls. When we FaceTime she shows me what she has learned.  She’s very talented and wants to learn everything she can about gymnastics.

Clifford soccer game

My grandson is playing soccer this year. He seemed to really enjoy it. I can’t wait to see how he learns and  grows with this sport.  I personally know nothing about soccer so it’s going to be interesting for me to learn as well.

Clifford did really good. This is his first year doing sports. Am proud of Michelle putting him into sports.

Go Clifford go!  I have always heard that keeping kids in sports is good as it keeps them out of trouble.  It also is helping with learning how to do teamwork. Hope to watch as many games as possible.  Clifford was so excited to see me!

Trying TicTok food places

Today was all about having girls day out.  Cherrie and I went to Lawton Oklahoma. Our first stop was Home Depot to get flooring for Cherrie’s bathroom.  Our main reason for driving over to Lawton.  We then wanted to try the S & B burger joint.  It’s been here for years but never stopped in to eat. Oh my goodness it was so good. Our waitress was phenomenal. The decorations was great.

I will always be a rock and roll girl. Especially graduating in 1985.  Loved all the big hair bands. Of course I like the older artist as well.

Cherrie and I enjoy laughing and just talking about a little of everything.  Everyone needs a good friend in their life that just gets them. She is my person.

This burger was extremely good.

Cherrie ordered the bacon Mac and cheese to go with her food. It was very favorable

Our next stop is dirty dough to pick up dessert.  Another find from watching Tic Tok.

I couldn’t make up my mind so I got the four pack. My favorite was the mint chocolate cookie. Mint chocolate has always been one of my favorite flavors.  The cookie was extremely sweet and filled with goodness.  Can’t wait to try different flavors.
Our day was fun and relaxing.  I hope to try different local spots near me during the coming months. I’m really working on romanticizing my life this season.  Making my normal life a bit more interesting and special.

When the Winds Take Your Roof but not Your Spirit

The winds destroyed our roof!

On March 14, 2025strong winds swept thru Oklahoma and parts of Texas reaching up to 75 MPH. Unfortunately, those winds caused significant damage to our home, taking off the back portion of our roof-the entire west side. It was a tough sight to see, knowing the repairs will require an entirely new roof. Our last roof we had put on was back in 2015.

Like many homeowners, we’re facing a high deductible with our insurance, which means a big out-of-pocket expense. We’re not exactly sure how we’ll come up with our portion just yet, but one thing we do know is that we will find a way. Sometimes unexpected challenges remind us of our resilience and determination.
Once the new roof in place, we will be looking into different insurance plans to better protect us in the future. For now, we’re staying positive and greatful that everyone is safe-and that roofs, unlike people, can always be replaced.

Three Appleteers

Cherrie came across a delightful store on TikTok, that offers candid apples and peach pies. It also offers drinks as well.

The tea cup inspired boost design is a lovely touch. The vibrant colors of the booths make the area look more festive.

Cherrie hates for me to take her picture, but I still do.  I did not know till today that she was a big Alice in Wonderland fan.  We have been friends for years.   I also have always enjoyed Alice in Wonderland so coming here was a great plan.

They sure had a great vision when they put this store together. Wish I had taken more pictures of the store.

I enjoyed looking at the decorations.  Everything just flowed together. Not sure who had this vision but they hit it out of the ballpark.

Cute tea and coffee station.

The Alice in Wonderland theme is skillfully executed, creating a whimsical and charming atmosphere.

The strawberry wafer candied apple  was both sweet and electable. Additionally, I bought a caramel peach pie that was indulgently sweet.
As a small family owned business, The Appleteers is likely to outgrow its current location soon.Notably, the store was filled to capacity during my Sunday visit.
