Shopping day!

Cherrie and I needed a Sunday funday!  Having a Starbucks drink is always at the top of our to do list.  I have to admit I’m glad we don’t have a local Starbucks.  I know me well enough that I would be spending quite a bit each week if it was closer.  This drink was the cookie crumble and was delicious.

We needed new couch pillows. So this was the main reason for trip to Lawton, Oklahoma.  We went to Ollie’s and I found 2 of these pillows for only 5.99 each.

Then found 2 of these pillows for 6.99 each.  I then will order pillow covers off of Amazon in neutral colors for the couch.  These are the size we wanted and cheaper than buying pillow inserts.

We went to Home Depot to buy this weed eater for Brody’s birthday gift.  When we get to store it’s ringing up for $149.00 not $119.00.  With a bit of an attitude they finally adjusted the price for me.  Just felt like a bait and switch scenario.  I was less than pleased with that experience.

We ate at the Fusion Chinese buffet for lunch.  It was not very good.  We have tried it twice and am not satisfied with the flavors.  I did like the sweet and sour soup and the mushrooms.  The fried rice wasn’t one, the flavors was blah on the sweet and sour chicken.

Lake Taylor

Today I asked Mr. C if we could drive around our local lake.  We hadn’t done that in awhile.  I enjoy looking at the water and wildlife.  It just seems to bring me inner peace.
Lately I can tell that I am getting in a dark funk and I need to work on my self to stop that downward spiral.  Driving out to the lake and spending some time relaxing is so beneficial to my soul.

This pier is new from our last visit.  Am so proud of all the improvements that Lake Taylor is making.  The groundskeeper has been really on top of things. He actually seems to like what he is doing and it shows.

Love seeing the Canadian Geese family.  Spring time is great to see babies of all kinds.  On the drive over to the lake I seen several cows and baby calves.  Spring is for new beginnings.  I think it’s probably one of my favorite seasons.  Do you have any spring traditions?  We like going to the zoo in the spring before it gets too hot to enjoy.  We take a picnic lunch and just take our time wondering around.  Our Oklahoma City zoo has grown much bigger than when I was a child.

Cinco de mayo

We had a great turn out for our cinco de mayo potluck.  It’s been awhile since we have thrown a work potluck. Sometimes I wish we could all get off phone lines for 30 minutes so we could visit with one another.  The vendors could take the calls for us.

Love this big ole taco.  We’ve used this several times thru the years.

Lots of good food.  Two different casseroles was brought.  Both was very good.  I don’t know why I didn’t make my Mexican casserole.  I brought cheese dip, chips,  small plates and guacamole dip.

Our next potluck will be just for our department at the end of May.  I will bring my usual teriyaki meatballs, plates, utensils and may bring a dessert. Want to find a good summer dessert that is easy to make.  Need to google recipes.

I know Cinco de mayo is celebrated on May 5. Which recognizes Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire led by Napoleon III at the Battle of Puebla in 1862

My mister pumping my gas

As a “princess”. I would rather do anything else but pump my own gas.  I am so thankful that Mr. C takes the time to do this for me.  I love how he does chores I just don’t enjoy.  Every now and then I might have to fill my own car but definitely not very often.  He takes very good care of me.
Do you have a chore you dislike doing?  In the house I don’t enjoy vacuuming at all.  I know it only takes a few minutes but sure dread it. He makes sure the house stays vacuumed every few days.  I can’t imagine life without him.  He is so precious to me.  Not only for what he does but for how much he loves me.
Everyone deserves to have a wonderful man like mine!  I am grateful for each and every day I have with him.  God has truly blessed me beyond measure.

Released from Shoulder Doctor!

Am going to Dr. Nolan to hopefully get released from Physical Therapy and FMLA.  I’m just over driving to Oklahoma City for Dr. appointments. Then twice a week for physical therapy.  Just great full that the appointments at Blue Rock are on the way home.
On side note these are my new glasses and I really like them.

Wanted to document my last trip to Dr. Nolen’s office.  This sign sure helped locating her office for the first time.  My first trip to her was in October 2024.
My opinion of Dr. Nolan is she took care of my shoulder extremely well.  I didn’t have much bruising after surgery. I expected much more bruising but it was nominal.  Everyone said the pain was going to be out of this world. For me personally the first 2 weeks was tough and I took my prescribed painkillers on schedule.  After that I took meds very sparingly but did take several Motrin a day.  More so in evenings.  I wasn’t a huge fan of the ice pack, the heating pad was what I used.  I did use ice pack more the first 3 weeks of healing. ❤️‍🩹 After using the ice pack I couldn’t get warm.  Was cold all the way to my bones.

The statues going into Dr. Nolen’s office seemed to be fitting.  You walk into this building broken, not able to use your arm. Once you have had surgery and gone thru physical therapy and have nearly recovered, you come out stronger like a warrior.
Would I recommend Dr. Nolen?  Yes of course I would.  I feel like she was the right choice for me and my left shoulder.

Kim’s Heavenly Birthday

Kim and I had been best friends forever.  I feel lost on many days since she has passed.  There seems to always be a question I need answers for and Kim had a mind that remembered so much.  I will always miss her.  In my heart I know she is no longer sick and in pain. Just wish the missing her wasn’t so hard.  I love how she was momma bear too so many people.  She loved to watch cooking shows and cook. She cooked more meals in her lifetime than I probably have.
Wanted to post pictures of her thru the years. I will never forget our friendship.

She loved her grandchildren as much as she loved her own children.

Co~worker gets pranked

My co~worker got chosen to go to Convention for 4 days.  Shelby has wanted to go for years.  Can’t even tell you how many conversations we have had about this topic.  This year it was held at Convention Center in Oklahoma City.  They put her in a hotel and fed the workers.  She said she had a really good time. I personally was glad she got to experience in going.

She had told our manager and her good friend that they better not move items on her desk.  So instead they Saran wrapped everything on her desk.  Then rewrapped in aluminum foil.  I already know she will not be happy about this situation.  I know personally I would be upset coming into this prank.
