Hot! Hot! In Okla

Today it has reached 107 degrees in Oklahoma.  They say the heat dome is over us.  I truly believe it! I ventured out to my vehicle and the heat took my breath away.  So the rest of the day I’m going to stay under the ac and write letters.
My goal is to write 4 letters today.  I miss getting letters every day in the mail. So far I have got Cheryl N, Jenn B, Amy Beth S letters wrote.  That makes me happy.  I do want to get Joni, Karen G, Shelly C and Karyn G letters wrote asap.   I’m also trying to decorate the envelopes a little as well.
Earlier today I decorated my Passion Planner.  I found enough stickers in my stash to decorate two weeks.  I really would like to order stickers from Etsy but am trying to be on a no spend budget.  Then I tell my self I can spend $10.00 but that doesn’t get you a whole of stickers.   I would end up with two decorative sheets of stickers.  I need to find some kits on sale with cheap shipping.
Everyone have a great day and stay cool!

Creative letter

Creative Letters

So am trying to be a little creative when sending out my pen pal letters.  When I am at work and have a few extra minutes I will grab some sheets of computer paper.  We all know how boring white computer paper starts off looking.  So I try to add some washi tape and cute stickers to jazz the letter up a bit.

I am sending this to a new pen pal.  Sure hope she likes the attempt that I put into her letter.
Writing snail mail has always been a passion of mine.  I probably started with pen pals in middle school.  I've done it off and on for probably 30 years.  Just seeing a envelope in the mailbox from a friend makes my day so much brighter.
This letter is awesome! I took it from Pinterest.  She did a awesome job on this letter!!
I would love to be able to use different fonts in my writing.  Which means I would have to practice my handwriting.  Some days I don't feel like I have the time or energy for another creative outlet.
When you write letters do you try to make them more creative?
Outgoing Mail
I really like the bright colorful envelopes that catch your eye.  Using last year calendars is a cheap and fun way to add color to your our going mail.

Outgoing letter

I had got out of writing for a while.  So have jumped back in with both feet. Have found a fun Facebook pen pal site..  PenpalsRus   I have been doing tags and wishes and have received several new pen pals.   Plus I have been writing letters to several ladies that have been waiting patiently for MANY months.  It feels good to get happy mail once again.  I have both my home address and a PO Box that I use.  Seems like I need to get back to using my po box just so its not so empty.  I am sure my pen pals get confused as I do when I put different addresses on my outgoing mail.  I have had this PO Box for 17 years.  I probably should give it up but after all these years I feel like its mine.  lol

I do not normally write letters like the one above but wanted to try something different.  This is for a new pen pal hope she likes what I did for her.

Snail Mail

Here's a few outgoing letters.  I made the envelopes out of a old calendar that I had at home.  I really do like making my envelopes.  I love how colorful they are and hope they put a smile on the receiver's face.  I do not always use homemade envelopes but lately have  been on most outgoing mail.
I believe that adding a little extra touch is well worth the time I invest in making the envelopes.  This week I have gained 2 new pals.  One lady wants to understand what embellishment's can be.  So am trying to round up several items to send out in the first letter to her.
Last weekend I bought several different project lifecards.  I have been using them in my journals a lot.  Plus have sent out several to my current penpals.
Happy mail is what I look forward to every week.  This week I have only received one letter.  Which I have already wrote and got sent off this morning.  So I am going to write a letter this evening to a pal that is long overdue.  I am determined to get caught up on my mail pile.

How was your happy mail week?  Are you behind on your pen pal letters?

Snail mail!

I'm so glad to be writing letters again.  Feels good to get back to nourishing the friendships I have made thru snail mail.  I probably lost several pals due to me not writing much this past year.  I am going to blame it on being depressed.  In all reality I do believe I should have went to my doctor for some help.  Which I wouldn't do.  Not because I didn't have insurance or time, but because I didn't want to acknowledge why I was depressed.

So here is another blog post about my outgoing mail! Yes mail does make me happy and all fuzzy feeling.  I do want to be a good pen pal but sometimes real life has a way of getting in the way.
Sent off letters to my cousin Daisy, Andrea and Jenn B. I also sent my secret sis a card.  She is going to be way surprised to get another card from her secret sis.

How many pen pals do you have? What amount of pen pals do you think is way too many?  My threshold for not getting overwhelmed is around twenty five pen pals.  More than that I just can't seem to manage.  I have a few pen pals that only write a few sentences and I think I will just let them go with a nice break up letter.

Thanks for reading my post today.  If at possible would you leave a hello or question in the comment for new?  Starting to feel a little lonely right now...lol
Till later my friends,
               Karen

Snail mail

I haven't been writing very many letters lately so am glad that I got these four letters wrote.  Just wished  that I had got a few more wrote.   I need to get back to making some cool envelopes made.  I believe the handmade envelopes are so much cuter than plain Jane envelopes.  I always get so excited when I see a cute homemade envelope in my mailbox.
